3227 | Never Married. First child of Claude and Genevieve born in 1705, as no recordings were made at that time by the priest or missionaries because of the yellow fever epidemic. We do know they were married between the 15th and 30th of August 1704. Along with Ignace their were four other children born in the fall, plus a couple in the spring months, which increase the population by ten or eleven in 1705. Ignace was unmarried and most likely being the eldest when his father died, stayed that way to help the family. He was only nineteen at the death of his father. During the time of 1751 - 1761,no one had deeds for their property and Ignace had land along Bayou St. John and died without issue. 3231 | NEW IBERIA - At approximately I2:30 a.m. Sunday, a two-car collision at the intersection of US Hwy. 90 and LA 675 resulted in the death of two Sunset residents. According to Troop I investigating officer Merline Landry, a car driven by randy Joseph Porche, 26, of New Iberia was northbound on LA 675 when he allegedly failed to heed a stop sign and broadsided the car driven by Angela Nugent. Angela Nugent, 19, and Joseph Hollier, 21, a passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies were taken to the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. It was reported that Porche was arrested and charged with failure to stop and for driving under revocation of license. Funeral services for Miss Nugent will be held today at 4 p.m. in St. Charles Catholic Church in Grand Coteau with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park directed by Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main St. Survivors include her parents, Merlin P. Nugent and Mrs. Barbara Hebert Nugent, of Sunset, three brothers, Aaron Nugent, Terry Nugent and Audie Nugent, all of Sunset; one sister, Mrs. Donald (Shelly) Wilson of New Iberia; her maternal grandparents. Pearl Baudin and Claude Hebert, of Lafayette. Funeral services for Hollier will also be held at 4 p.m. today in St. Charles Catholic Church in Grand Coteau with burial in the church mausoleum directed by Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main St. Survivors include his parents, Elvin Hollier and the former Elnora Miller, both of Sunset; three brothers, Mike Hollier of Lafayette and Jack Hollier and Danni Hollier both of Sunset. 3232 | New Iberia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Alta Hollier Seaux, age 93, on Tuesday November 10, 2015 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Mark Derise to serve as the Celebrant with musical accompaniment by Janet Sinitere. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette. Reading from scripture will be Wesley Kern and Lisa Balutansky. Visitation will begin on Monday November 9, 2015 from 4:00pm until 10:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 6:30pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday November 10, 2015 from 8:00am until service time. A native of Maurice and resident of New Iberia, “T-Beb” as she was affectionately known passed away on Friday November 6, 2015 at 2:50am at a local hospital. Mrs. Seaux was a caring, affectionate woman with a knack for cooking. She enjoyed making preserves and banana nut bread for everyone. When the holidays came around, she would always make Christmas candy, fudge, and pralines that everyone looked forward to and no one would refuse. “T-Beb” cared for the sick and often prayed the rosary. She was a devout Catholic, member of the Ladies Alter Society, and parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ores Seaux and wife Luci of Kerrville, TX, Elena S. Kern and husband Wesley of Spring, TX, Linda Sue Seaux of New Iberia; sister, Lula Abshire of Kaplan; seven grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Eris Seaux; parents, Eli and Thelia Doucet Hollier; daughter, Joyce S. Sagrera; son-in-law, George Sagrera; grandchildren, Troy A. Seaux, Georgette Sagrera, Neal Sagrera; brothers, Alpha, Doris, Walton, Leonard, Loudice, Cerphe Hollier; and sisters, Leonia Abshire, Leonie Hollier, Eula Hollier, and Lorraine Hargrave. Upholding the honor of Pallbearers are Ores P. Seaux, Wesley Kern, John Balutansky, Chad Menard, Kenneth Seaux, and Lisa Balutansky. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gregory Sagrera. The family would like to thank Dr. Carl Ditch, Dr. Paul Gulotta and their staffs, and the 2nd floor nursing staff at Iberia Medical Center for all of the care and compassion given to their mother. In lieu of flowers, donation in Mrs. Seaux’s honor can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org/ or the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
