Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Emonet Artigue will be held on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10AM at St. Landry Catholic Church with the interment at Bellevue Memorial Park. Msgr. Robert Romero will conduct the services.

Mrs. Artigue, age 87, of Opelousas, died Tuesday at 2:26AM at Opelousas General Health System.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a seamstress at Opelousas General Health System.

She is survived by her sons; Robert Lee Artigue and his wife Billie of Opelousas, Joseph Ricky Artigue and his wife Wanda of Scott and David Scotty Artigue of Sarasota, FL. daughters; Barbara Artigue Fontenot and her husband Rene of Opelousas and Jacqueline Artigue Bordelon and her husband Gene of Lafayette LA, grandchildren Nancy Fontenot St. Cyr, Michael Fontenot, Shawn Bordelon, Jad Bordelon, Cory Bordelon, Catherine Artigue, Kirk Artigue, Sgt. Benjamin Artigue U.S. Marine and Christopher Artigue, Great-grandchildren; Andrew St. Syr, Ben St. Cyr, Criston St. Cyr and Callie Istre.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Artigue, a granddaughter; Kristie Artigue, her parents; Joseph and Ada Lalonde Emonet, brothers; Fred Emonet, Cleveland Emonet and Raymond Emonet.

The family has requested that visitation be observed on Thursday, February 15th from 10AM to 10PM. and will continue on Friday from 8AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7PM.

Services for Mrs. Vivian Marie Dufilho Keeth, 77, of 150 Swedes Ave., will be at 1:30 p.m. Sat. Jan. 31 at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel, Father Murray Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park West Cemetery.
She died at 11:50 a.m. Thurs. Jan. 29, 1981 at Schumpert Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Keeth, born in Natchitoches, La., had been a resident of Shreveport 60 years, and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was retired.
Survivors include one daughter, Jere A. Keeth of Shreveport; one brother, Al P. Dufilho of Houma, La.; a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Tim Rich, Todd Rich, Don Malone, Bryson Whitlock, Terry Hamus and Steve Whately.

ABBEVILLE - On Dec. 27, 2002, Walter J. Hollier Sr. of Abbeville joined his beloved wife, Lou, in Paradise.
Walter and Lou will be dearly missed by many wonderful friends, family members, and all of Lou’s strays. Walter was much loved and he was certainly entertaining.
He is survived by five daughters, Mickey Hollier Walters of Houston, Yvette Hollier of Lafayette, Beverlee Hollier Adams and husband Jack of Austin, Texas, Yvonne Hollier of Houston and Andree Hollier Dunston and husband Johnny of Lafayette; three sons, Theo Hollier and wife Ruth of New Orleans, Walt Hollier and wife Denise of Texarkana and Christopher Hollier of Lafayette; one sister, Beverlee Gremillion and husband Cecil of Abbeville; 16 grandchildren, Donnie, David, Nadine, Heather, Adrienne, Luc, Christian, Jessie, Aubrey, Sam, Koury, Jordan, Julian, Adam, Rhegan and Seth; and five great grandchildren, Matthew, David, Sydney, Bailey and Isabel.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lou Delcambre Hollier, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Hollier of Abbeville.
Hollier will be remembered by local residents as owner/operator of H & G Furniture Store in Crowley, a Crowley business for many years.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church for Walton Joseph Hollier, Sr., 69, who died at 2 p.m. Saturday in Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his widow, the former Enice Lege of Abbeville; three sons, Wilson and Walton Hollier, Jr., both of Abbeville, and John Doles Hollier of Port Sulphur; one daughter, Mrs. Cres Broussard of LaPorte, Tx.; six sisters, Mrs. Roy Hollier and Mrs. Eudor Abshire, both of Abbeville, Mrs. Avery Abshire, Miss Leonie Hollier, and Mrs. Wilson Hargrave, all of Kaplan, and Mrs. Eris Seaux of New Iberia; two brothers, Alpha Hollier of Abbeville, and D. M. Hollier of Beaumont, Tx; and 11 grandchildren. Burial was in the Kaplan Catholic Cemetery with Vincent Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

4870 Wana Jean Peters Hollier of Port Neches, Texas and long-time resident of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away in the early morning hours of March 19, 2015, following a short illness.

She will be reunited with her husband, Ivan Hollier and her twin sons, Ronald and Donald Hollier, who predeceased her.

Jean was born in Norman, Oklahoma to William Claude Peters and Colombia Fox Peters on October 2, 1925. She had one brother, William Claude Peters, Jr., who was with General George Patton's army in Lauf, Germany, when he was killed in battle in 1945. Jean mourned the loss of her brother all her life.

When Port Arthur native Ivan Hollier joined the Navy in 1942, he was sent to Gunnery School at Tinker's Air Force Base outside of Norman, Oklahoma where he fell in love at first sight with the lovely and shy Jean Peters. They were married on June 24, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida. In Sept of 1944, Jean and Ivan celebrated the birth of their first child, Robert Earl Hollier. When the war ended, the three Holliers settled in Port Arthur where they raised their family. The twin sons were born in May, 1949.

Ivan worked at Gulf Oil Refinery and Jean stayed home to raise the boys. In the early 1950s, Jean, a member of the Church of Christ, converted to Catholicism, joining her husband and three sons. She was a long-time member of Saint James Catholic Church Altar Guild and a Lay Reader; at the time of her death, Jean was a member of Saint Charles Catholic Church. Jean was also a member of the Woman's Auxiliary of OCAW Local1l-23 and she was a volunteer at the precinct polls for decades.

Jean is survived by her eldest son, Robert and his wife Mimi, their son Robbie and his son Gavyn, by her grandson Ronnie Hollier, Jr., his wife Latorshia and their two children-Reagan and Trey, by her granddaughter Lori Ortiz and her husband Thomas and their two children Kayla and Thomas, Jr., by her grand-daughter Jennifer Cardenas and her husband Jay and their three children Jillian, Jacie and Jude, by her grandson Bryan Hollier, his wife Dene and their three children Aspen, Chase, and Kendall, by her grand-daughter Jaime Hollier and her daughter Addison and by two other children by Ronnie Sr Ryan and Brittany Jean.

Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home will be the site for the funeral service, conducted by the Reverend Dan Malain, Tuesday, March 24, at 3:pm. Visitation prior to the service will begin at 1pm.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery where she will be entombed next to her beloved husband.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hollier, Jr., Bryan Hollier, Robbie Hollier, Thomas Ortiz, Jay Cardenas and George Wheeteroft.

Weston I. Guidry

Opelousas - Private Memorial services for Mr. Weston I. Guidry, age 76, were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Father Brian Taylor officiated the services.

Weston was born in Cecilia, LA, and was a life-long resident of Leonville, LA. He died on Monday, April 28, 2008, at Doctor's Hospital of Opelousas, LA.

Weston was married to his loving wife, Henrietta Robin Guidry for 57 wonderful years. In his lifetime, he was a hardworking man who loved welding. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a dedicated father to his children and loved spending time with his family. He always seemed to be the life of the party by telling jokes or just laughing.

Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Robin Guidry of Leonville; three daughters: Sheryl Callandret and husband, Gene; Gail Mistrot and husband, Al ; and Lisa Angelle and husband, Percy "Joe" ; all living in Leonville; one brother, Larry Guidry and wife, Annette of Arnaudville; one sister, Lili Cormier and husband, Gary of Nederland, TX; six grandchildren: Dustin, Dylan, and Danielle Stelly, all of Leonville; Shiela Broussard of Leonville; Paul Broussard of Wisner; and Melissa Mistrot of Leonville; and five great-grandchildren: Scotty, Devin, Brittany, and Chase Prudhomme, all of Leonville; and Davin Broussard of Wisner.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Claude O. Guidry and Thelma Hollier Guidry.

The family requested private visiting hours in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas to be held on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

4898 Whitney Hollier, 55, of 2888 61st street, a Gulf Oil employee, died today at 3:25 a.m. in St. Mary’s hospital where he had been a patient since Aug. 7.
Rosary will be recited tonight at 7 o’clock in the Grammier-Oberle 39th Street Funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Little Flower of Jesus Catholic church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial park.
Mr. Hollier. a native of Abbeville. La., had been a Port Arthur resident 51 years. He was a 27-year employee of Gulf Oil and was a carpenter in the refinery’s Shops and Crafts department at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 3195, Little Flower of Jesus church and the Holy Name society. He was an usher in the church and was a member of OCAW Local 4-23.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Hollier; and one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Bertrand, both of Port Arthur; three sisters Mrs. Eunice Tauzin and Mrs. Eula DeCuir. both of Port Arthur, and Mrs. Nelta Tauzin of Groves; two brothers, W. J. Hollier of Nederland and Sidney Hollier of Groves; and three grandchildren.
