3764 Samuel Buell was one of the pioneers of Killingworth when he moved there in 1664. Hew owned an extensive estate and held many important public offices of honor and trust. The town records noted Samuel as a 'Gentleman'. (Welles, History of the Buell family in England, 25-26) Buell, Samuel Sr. (I1969)

3765 Samuel Hinckley is the common ancestor of all Hinckleys in this country. In 1628 it appears by the colony records that Elder Nathaniel Tilden, of Tenterden, purchased lands in Scituate, Massachusetts. In the spring of 1635 Samuel Hinckley, Elder Nathaniel Tilden, John Lewis, and James Austin, of Tenterden, in the County of Kent, in England, and several other families from that County, making a company of 102, counting men, women, children and servants, resolved to emigrate to New England. They sailed from Sandwich in the ship Hercules.

Samuel Hinckley brought with him his wife Sarah and four children, and immediately after his arrival in Boston went to Scituate and built a house which was known as No. 19 on Kent street. Samuel Hinckley continued to reside in Scituate until 1640, when he sold his house, farm and meadows, and relocated to Barnstable, Massachusetts. His house lot was bounded south by his son Thomas', and west by Rowley's pond, near which he built his house, a small one-story building, with a thatched roof. He was one of the original founders of West Barnstable, where he owned one of the best farms in the town.
[Otis, Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families:Volume II, 30-31.]

Hinckley, Samuel I (I1487)

3766 Samuel was born and baptized on the same day, 24 Jul 1642. [Otis, Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families: Volume II, 32.] Hinckley, Samuel II (I1916)

3767 Samuel, Sr. came to Stratford with his parents as early as 1650, where he always resided, except that he probably made his home in the town of Derby, Ct. for a short time. He was also one of the original 56 proprietors of the township of Newton, Ct. He was a farmer but dealt largely in real estate, as the town records of Stratford show and in 1699 according to a certain list of proprietors; he was the largest owner of undivided lands. He continued to accumulate land until near the close of his life, yet when he made his will he had previously given it all to his children, who apparently were made quite independent, for one sons, Ephraim received at one time 172 acres, beside other parcels as good land there was in the town and as he had 8 sons and 3 daughters to provide for probably at the same rate he must have given them about 2,000 acres. (Elias Sill Hawley, The Hawley Record: (Buffalo, New York: E.H. Hutchinson, 1890). Hawley, Samuel Sr. (I2183)

3775 Sandra Richard
Sandra Widener Richard was a woman of enormous character. Always a friend and caretaker known for her big heart and generosity, she loved doing for others, never expecting anything in return. Her zeal and love for life was infectious as was her smile and laughter. Birthdays never passed without a card or phone call and holidays were always big events. Family and friends were everything to her and her spare time was filled traveling and visiting remote places.
Sandra's early years were spent in Corpus Christi, Texas, working at Maverick Markets and raising the joys of her life, her three children. She later relocated to Houston, Texas, where she worked for Stop and Go and developed many new friendships that lasted through the years. Later Sandra's love of plants and landscape design, soon drove her to start Earthbound Landscaping in Bellaire, Texas, which she owned and operated for 25 years with her then husband, Doug. While Sandra loved landscaping and the people she worked with, she achieved her goal of retirement at age 68 and was able to enjoy some wonderful years in South Carolina with family. But Texas drew her back to Houston in 2010 where she lived for four more years before moving to South Carolina to live her final months.
Sandra continued to be an active mother, grandmother, friend and teacher to all around her until her last day. She left us peacefully on August 17, 2014, with her children and grandchildren by her side at the home of her daughter in Charleston, South Carolina. Of all her many accomplishments, she took the greatest pride in her family.
She was the oldest child of Dr. Joseph Ray Richard & Carmen Richard and the precious granddaughter of Adel Dufilho Richard.
She is survived in death by her sister, Sharron (Peaches) Gonzalez of Dallas, Texas, daughter, Rae Ann (Bill) McCanse of Houston, Texas, son Michael Martinez of Austin, Texas, daughter, Monica (Paul) Mulkey of Charleston, SC, as well as her seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and nephews Randall Gonzalez of Dallas, Texas and Glen Gonzalez of Houston, Texas.
The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 25th at 5:00 at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77025. There will be a Celebration of Sandra's Life for friends and family held at Glen and Steve's home, immediately following the Memorial Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the SC Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd.- Suite L., Anderson, SC 29621.
