A native of Abbeville, and a resident of Morgan City, Louisiana for the past 54 years, Mr. Hollier died at 12:35AM on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at Teche Regional Medical Center of Morgan City. Mr. Hollier retired from McDermott International, Inc. after 30 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post 4222 and American Legion Post 96 having served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Elda Luquette Hollier of Morgan City; two sons, Wilton Hollier, Jr. and wife Sylvia of Bayou Vista and Douglas Hollier and wife Vera of Patterson; one daughter, Charlene Lamar and her fiancée John Hall of Morgan City; two brothers, Leonard Hollier and wife Gloria of Abbeville, and Nelson Hollier and wife Therese of Erath; two sisters, Rita LeLeux and husband Alvin of Kaplan, and Rena Trahan of Abbeville; one sister-in-law Rida Hollier of Kaplan; six grandsons, Blair Hollier, Brock Hollier and wife Allison, Travis Lamar, Matthew Lamar, Joseph Hollier , and Justin Hollier; two granddaughters, Brittany Hollier, and Jessica Hollier; two great-granddaughters, Alexis Lamar and Lindsey Lamar; and his favorite dog “Bullet”. 261	According to Dictionnaire National Des Canadiens Francois, Vol. III, page 1544, we learn that : Robert Drouin was born in 1607, at Pin, in Perche, France. He arrived in Canada in 1635 and settled at Beauport on the fief (freeland) of Cloutier. A year after his arrival, Robert R. Drouin signed his contract of marriage to Anne Cloutier, which was the first such contract in Canada. Having married the Daughter of the owner of this freeland Cloutier, Anne Cloutier and Robert Drouin became the owners of the land, the second piece on the west bank of Riviere aux Chiens, in the Parish of Chateau Richer. About the Cloutier family,from the Dictionary of the Canadians of Francois, Vol. III, page 1484, that Zacherie Cloutier married Xaincte Dupont in St. Jean, in Perche, France, on July 18, 1616. During the winter of 1633-34, a doctor, Robert Giffard, who had become seigneur (lord of the manor) de Beauport, recruited "censitaires" for his seigneurie (censors; audit). In a contract signed in Perche, France, he gave the freeland of Cloutier at Beauport to Zacherie Cloutier. At the end of March 1644, forty-two people, among whom were Zacherie and his wife Xaincte and their five children, embarked at La Rochelle, France for Canada. On July 1644, Zacherie began the construction of the residence of the seigneur of Beauport, as well as the parish church at Quebec and that of Fort St. Louis. Until 1670, he lived on his land of Cloutier, clearing and cultivating the land. Zacherie and Xaincte were able to celebrate their Golden and even their Diamond Wedding Anniversaries. 298	After the settlement of his father's estate, Charles who owned the home place sold out and moved to Vincennes, Indiana, where he and his wife both died of the diseases of the country and their only son Oramel was taken possession of by a Mr. Wood and was removed to Mobile, Alabama, together with the property of which Wood had possession. This Oramel is eventually settled in Louisiana and is the progenitor of the Louisiana Hinckleys. ["Orramel Hinckley and Family Papers, Mss. 1151, 1317, 970"; LSU Special Collections.] Arthur Latham Hinckley, Jr. notes that he has a letter written by Caroline (Hinckley) Latham to Orramel Strong Hinckley. In this letter Caroline writes that Orramel & Lydia (Strong) Hinckley died within a few weeks of each other and since Charles was the oldest, it was thought best for him to have the homestead and make a home for his sisters and brothers. He is survived by his wife, Elda Luquette Hollier of Morgan City; two sons, Wilton Hollier, Jr. and wife Sylvia of Bayou Vista and Douglas Hollier and wife Vera of Patterson; one daughter, Charlene Lamar and her fiancée John Hall of Morgan City; two brothers, Leonard Hollier and wife Gloria of Abbeville, and Nelson Hollier and wife Therese of Erath; two sisters, Rita LeLeux and husband Alvin of Kaplan, and Rena Trahan of Abbeville; one sister-in-law Rida Hollier of Kaplan; six grandsons, Blair Hollier, Brock Hollier and wife Allison, Travis Lamar, Matthew Lamar, Joseph Hollier , and Justin Hollier; two granddaughters, Brittany Hollier, and Jessica Hollier; two great-granddaughters, Alexis Lamar and Lindsey Lamar; and his favorite dog “Bullet”.
Mr. Hollier was preceded in death by his parents Alphe and Ann Bell Romero Hollier, two brothers, Riley Hollier and Larry Hollier; one sister-in-law Sable Hollier and one brother-in-law Wilmer Trahan.

According to Dictionnaire National Des Canadiens Francois, Vol. III, page 1544, we learn that : Robert Drouin was born in 1607, at Pin, in Perche, France. He arrived in Canada in 1635 and settled at Beauport on the fief (freeland) of Cloutier. A year after his arrival, Robert R. Drouin signed his contract of marriage to Anne Cloutier, which was the first such contract in Canada. Having married the Daughter of the owner of this freeland Cloutier, Anne Cloutier and Robert Drouin became the owners of the land, the second piece on the west bank of Riviere aux Chiens, in the Parish of Chateau Richer.

About the Cloutier family,from the Dictionary of the Canadians of Francois, Vol. III, page 1484, that Zacherie Cloutier married Xaincte Dupont in St. Jean, in Perche, France, on July 18, 1616. During the winter of 1633-34, a doctor, Robert Giffard, who had become seigneur (lord of the manor) de Beauport, recruited "censitaires" for his seigneurie (censors; audit). In a contract signed in Perche, France, he gave the freeland of Cloutier at Beauport to Zacherie Cloutier. At the end of March 1644, forty-two people, among whom were Zacherie and his wife Xaincte and their five children, embarked at La Rochelle, France for Canada.

On July 1644, Zacherie began the construction of the residence of the seigneur of Beauport, as well as the parish church at Quebec and that of Fort St. Louis. Until 1670, he lived on his land of Cloutier, clearing and cultivating the land.

Zacherie and Xaincte were able to celebrate their Golden and even their Diamond Wedding Anniversaries. Zacherie died in 1677 and his wife died 1680.

After the settlement of his father's estate, Charles who owned the home place sold out and moved to Vincennes, Indiana, where he and his wife both died of the diseases of the country and their only son Oramel was taken possession of by a Mr. Wood and was removed to Mobile, Alabama, together with the property of which Wood had possession. This Oramel is eventually settled in Louisiana and is the progenitor of the Louisiana Hinckleys. ["Orramel Hinckley and Family Papers, Mss. 1151, 1317, 970"; LSU Special Collections.]

Arthur Latham Hinckley, Jr. notes that he has a letter written by Caroline (Hinckley) Latham to Orramel Strong Hinckley. In this letter Caroline writes that Orramel & Lydia (Strong) Hinckley died within a few weeks of each other and since Charles was the oldest, it was thought best for him to have the homestead and make a home for his sisters and brothers. He married the following spring (1812). Caroline left home when Oramel was about 3 yeras old. Not long afterwards, Charles "removed to the West."
