Died 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 1989, at Doctor's Hospital, Opelousas. He was 60, a native Opelousas and resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired Louisiana Department of Labor employee. Visiting at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home, Old Sunset Hwy., Opelousas, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday. Religious services at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, 3 p.m. Friday. Survived by three sisters, Anne Hollier, Bonnie Tilly and Inez Horecky; and two brothers, Richard Hollier and Charles Hollier. Preceded in death by a sister, Edith Mahfouz; and mother, Gladys Hollier.

Richard M. Hollier
Opelousas, La. Dec. 16—Richard M. Hollier, 54 years old, city engineer and brother of Mayor David Hollier, who died last night at the St. Landry sanitarium, will be buried this afternoon at 4 o’clock, with services and interment in the Catholic church and cemetery.
Mr. Hollier had been ill for less than a week. Several days ago he was stricken with appendicitis and immediate operation was necessary. It was found that the appendix had ruptured and complications which followed the operation caused his death last night.
Surviving Mr. Hollier are his widow, the former Gladys Perrault; four daughters, Misses Inez, Edith, Bonnie, and Ann hollier and three sons, Jimmie, Dickie, and Charles Hollier, all of this city; two brothers, Mayor Hollier and Preston Hollier, also of Opelousas; and four sisters, Mrs. Preston Dunbar, Mrs. Roger Dufilho of Opelousas, Mrs. Percy Collins, and Mrs. Polite [Hypolite] Robin of Port Arthur, Tex.
