    Obituary:
    Rich Gunnar "Gunny", 39, of Kansas City, Missouri died suddenly at his residence on Friday, November 7th, 2008.

    He was born on May 15, 1969 in San Antonio, TX to Dick and Marcia Gunnar.

    His mother survives, while he was preceded in death by his father. He leaves behind his loving wife Melissa Gunnar and three beautiful children, Libby Love Gunnar, Emma Katherine Gunnar, and Hayden Andrew Thomas Gunnar. He is also survived by his sister Rebecca (Mike) Vaughn and their daughter, Carly. Rich graduated with a BBA in Accounting from the University of Iowa in 1991.

    He was a fraternity brother of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He continued his education at Rockhurst University and received an MBA in Finance in 2005. He began his professional career as an auditor for insurance and mutual funds at Price Waterhouse in Kansas City. For 10+ years, he served as Managing Director of Finance at Principal Commercial Acceptance LLC in Overland Park, Kansas. For the past year, he worked as the Director of Client Services at Resources Global Professionals in Kansas City. Rich was an active member of the Missouri Society of CPA's where he was involved in writing questions annually for the Uniform CPA Examination.

    Rich was a loving and generous son, brother, husband and father. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. He enjoyed spending time with his children on the weekends going to Worlds of Fun and the movies. He was also a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, MO. There wasn't a day that went by that he did not have a smile on his face or a kind word to say about someone.

    Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12th at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at M-291 Highway, Liberty. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11th at the chapel.
