    JENNINGS.-Alva Hollier, 65, for 30 years a prominent farmer of this community, died at Bahel Memorial hospital. He had been in failing health for several years and had undergone several operations. Funeral rites were held in the Catholic church with Father L. M. Fournet officiating. Born at Breaux Bridge, the son of Calvert and Cestine Meloncon Hollier, he married Miss Mazel Benoit, 43 years ago and she survives, with three chilren, Mrs. James Hurst, Mrs. Louis Bourgeois and Lawrence Hollier, all of Jennings; two sisters, Mrs. Maruise Ledeaux of Breaux Bridge and Mrs. Paul Broussard of New Orleans, and five brothers, Antour, Prudent, John and Thearg of Breaux Bridge and Florent of Henderson, Texas.

    Mrs. Agnes H. Laird Dies at Daughter’s Home Today
    Mrs. Agnes Hollier Laird, 54, of 225 Arbor, died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E. S. Cathriner Jr., at 1006 West Lobit. She had been in ill health since last fall and was being cared for at her daughter’s home when her death occurred. Wife of a veteran Humble Oil and Refining Co. employee, she had lived In Baytown for 30 years.
    Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at .Earthman chapel with Cecil Haffelfinger, minister of the Lakewood Church of Christ and Andy Dooley of the Virginia Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Cedarcrest cemetery under direction of Earthman’s.
    Survivors are her husband, Lucien Lamar Laird; two daughters, Mrs. Paul C. Murphy and Mrs. Cathriner, both of Baytown and her ' mother, Mrs. Corine Hollier of Breaux Bridge.
    Also surviving are five brothers, J. W. Hollier, J. E. Hollier, C. Holier and Wilbert Hollier, all of New Orleans, La.; James Hollier of Lake Charles, La., and Carroll Hollier of Port Arthur; two sisters, Miss Lavina Hollier and Miss Fabiola Hollier, both of New Orleans and three granddaughters.
    Pallbearers will be W. T. Jones, Sr., E. C. Osborne. Bill van Meter, L. M. Raiford, Larry Williamson and Fred Langbam.

    Macena (Coonie) Hollier, 68, of 2439 Woodrow died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Hospital.
    He was retired from the maintenance department at St. Mary Hospital, retiring in 1975 with 36 years of service. A native of Lafayette, La., he was a Port Arthur resident since 1937. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
    Services are set for 2 p.m. today at the Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Cavalry Cemetery.

    Leola Chamblee, 101, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, in a local care center.
    Leola was born in Breaux Bridge in 1910 and lived most of her life in Sulphur and Carlyss. She graduated from the Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in Beaumont, Texas and began her nursing career as a registered nurse at St. Patrick's Hospital in Lake Charles. After the opening of Sulphur's Cal-Cal Hospital, she began working there for several years, but later returned to Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles where she was a supervisor of nursing until her retirement in 1970. She was a former C.C.D. teacher, a former member of the Sulphur Garden Club, former Jr. Catholic Daughter Leader, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss.
    Survivors include her sons, Byron Chamblee and wife, Evelyn of Carlyss, and Gary Chamblee of Conroe, Texas; five grandchildren, Kent Chamblee and wife, Stephanie and Sheri Yarbrough and husband, Doug, all of Carlyss, Terry Chamblee and Brooke Gilcrease and husband, Brad, all of Houston, Texas, and Mark Chamblee and wife, Tracy of The Woodlands, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Hannah Chamblee, Cody and Kaitlin Yarbrough, all of Carlyss, Madison and Ryan Gilcrease of Houston, Texas, and Cameron and Alyssa Chamblee of The Woodlands, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Hollier and Camille Hollier Martin; step-father, Clovis Martin; brother, Jess Hollier; sister-in-law, Dorothy "Dot" Hollier; and daughter-in-law, Linda Chamblee.
    Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, in St. Theresa Catholic Church. The Rev. Joe Aquino will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and Nephews. Visitation will be held in the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Friday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Holly Hill Nursing Staff, and to Odyssey Hospice for their loving care of our mother and grandmother.     Jess Hollier, 94, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the Jennings hospital. A native of Breaux Bridge, Jess lived most of his life in Sulphur and served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a graduate of Vincent Business School and a lifetime member of the American Legion. Jess and his wife owned and operated Hollier's Exxon and Grocery for over 40 years retiring in 1982. Jess was an active member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church where he served as an usher for over 50 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

    He is survived by his children Preston Hollier (Kathy) of Roswell, GA, Jeffrey Hollier (Susan) of The Woodlands, TX, and Jerry Hollier (Vera) of Sulphur; his sister Leola Chamblee; grandchildren Brandon Hollier (Caroline) and Andrea Jernigan (Rich), all of Georgia, Emily Rissmiller (Jeff), Kent Hollier and Anna Yue (Dennis), all of Texas and Jessica Thibodeaux (Terrell), Leslie Olivier and Jennifer LaBorde (Michael), all of Sulphur; great grandchildren Savannah, Grant and Hunter Hollier, Cole and Tucker and "one on the way" Rissmiller, Britnee Thibodeaux, Zachary, Zoe and Zailey Olivier and "the LaBorde Triplets on the way".

    He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Dorothy "Dot" Hollier; father Joseph Hollier, mother Camille Hollier Martin and step father Clovis Martin. His funeral will be at 10:00 am, Monday, December 27, 2010 in Hixson - Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Father Gerry Boulangerwill officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery -South in Carlyss. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 4 until 8 pm with a 7 pm rosary on Sunday.
    His grandchildren will serve as pall bearers.

    HENDERSON -- Services for N.A. "Doc" Hollier, 86, of Kilgore, formerly of Henderson, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 27, at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Simmons and James Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today, May 26, at the funeral home. Mr. Hollier died Friday night, May 24, 2002, in a Kilgore nursing home.

    Mr. Hollier was born Oct. 4, 1915, in Shreveport, La. He was a member of the Grandview Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton Lodge No. 23 A.F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Sharon Temple Shrine in the Valley of Waco and was a charter member of Sharon Temple Shrine of Tyler. Mr. Hollier retired from the Exxon Corp. after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Hollier was preceded in death by his parents, Florent and Lena Hollier; one sister, Gloria Jean Norrell; and two brothers, Florent H. Hollier Jr. and Kenneth Hollier.

    Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Ellen Hollier of Kilgore; one son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Shirley Montgomery of Flower Mound; one daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Forrest Burton of Kilgore; one sister, Mary Nell Shelton of Plano; five grandchildren, Ginger and Chris Cox of Frisco, Brad Montgomery of Grand Prairie, Tim and Kim Burton of Marshall, Tal and Jan Burton of Rowlett and Jennifer Mitchell of Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Pallbearers will be Tim Burton, Tal Burton, Brad Montgomery, Chris Cox, Don Cooper and Jerry Guess.

    Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Guess, Clayton Guess, Kenneth Follick and Keith Pellick.

    Curtis was born on April 23, 1921 to parents John and Elizabeth Hollier in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and retired from Texaco. Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed duck hunting and spending time with his family.

    He was preceded in death by his wife Genevieve Hollier.

    Curtis is survived by his sons, Michael Hollier and wife, Sherry, Randy Hollier and wife, Martha all of Groves, TX; Jaime Hollier and wife, Rebecca of Orangefield, TX and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Elsie Catille, his brother, Elwood Hollier both of Breaux Bridge, LA.

    ORANGE - Adrian “AK” Kleas Hollier, 79, of Orange, died Thursday, October 28, 2010, at his home.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2010, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Steven Leger of St. Henry Catholic Church and Reverend David Placette of St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

    Visitation will be from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 3:00 p.m., Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

    Born in Port Arthur, Texas on February 4, 1931, Adrian was the son of Zelamie M. (Gonsoulin) and Jean Detour Hollier.

    He attended St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Port Arthur, and retired from Texaco on March 1, 1991, after 41 years. Adrian lived in Bridge City for 38 years and was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church where he was involved in many activities throughout the years.

    e was preceded in death by his; wife, Betty Jo Mills Hollier; and grandson, Justin Ryan Hollier.

    Adrian is survived by his 8 children, Cap Hollier and his wife, Shally of Groves, Elaine Hollier and her partner, Sharon Ashley of Houston, Therese Philpot and her husband, Tim of Fort Worth, Ricky Hollier and his wife, Jerrilynn Miller of Bridge City, Adam Hollier and his friend, Tanya Hebert of Nederland, Aaron Hollier and his wife, Valorie of Houston, Andrew Hollier and his wife, Shelly of Bridge City, Alan Hollier and his fiancé, Missy Pillsbury of Bridge City

    He is also survived by his 25 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce Reese and Piggie Briggs.

    Serving as Pallbearers will be Eddie Holstine, Bolan Holstine, Ricky Hollier, Adam Hollier, Aaron Hollier and Andrew Hollier. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Cap Hollier, Alan Hollier, Elaine Hollier and Therese Philpot.

    Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Earl "Sonny" Hollier, 72, who passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017.

    Sonny’s family requests that family and friends gather together for a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 644 Washington Street, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517, following his funeral service.

    Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. The concelebrant will be Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert. Readers will be Faith "Nikki" Hollier and Crystal Hollier. Gift bearers will be Elise Hollier and Rhett Hollier.

    Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 1 in Breaux Bridge.

    Sonny attended the University of Louisiana (formerly U.S.L.), before transferring to NLU/ULM School of Pharmacy, where he graduated in 1967. He was the owner and operator of Acadiana/Hospital Thrift Pharmacy in Breaux Bridge from 1972-1999.

    An avid outdoorsman and sportsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, and traveling, Sonny was a past member of the Catahoula Hunting and Pelba Hunting Clubs. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pelican Allegros of Louisiana RV Club, and the Breaux Bridge Quarterback Club. As well as being an avid backer and supporter of UL Ragin’ Cajun Athletics, he was also a member of the Ragin’ Cajun Athletic Foundation.

    Sonny served as a past Grand Knight and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council in Parks, and is a current member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2398 in Breaux Bridge. He was also a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, the Louisiana Pharmacists Association, and the American Pharmacists Association.

    He is survived by his loving wife, Aline Roy Hollier of Breaux Bridge; three sons, Robert Hollier and wife, Faith "Nikki", of Breaux Bridge, LA, Royce Hollier of Woodlands, TX, and Reggie Hollier and wife, Crystal, of Humble, TX; and three grandchildren, Rhett Hollier and Elise Hollier of Woodlands, TX, and Grant Hollier of Humble, TX.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Gabriel Hollier, Sr. and Rose Mae Guidry Hollier; and his brother, Lowell James Hollier.
