    MRS. ATHE GAUTHIER
    JENNINGS -Mrs. Atha Naise Gauthier, 76, died Monday in a local hospital. Funeral services were to be at 10 a.m. today from Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. Burial was to be in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Segura Funeral Home. She was a native of Breaux Bridge who had lived here for 42 years. One of her sons is Jennings chief of police, J. C. Gauthier. Other survivors are another son, Edward M. Gauthier of Jennings: two daughters, Mrs. Louis Clement and Mae Gauthier, both of Jennings; two; brothers, Joe Hollier of Baton' Rouge and Neville Hollier of Shreveport; one sister. Mrs.; Edith Robertson of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

    Juanita H. Carroway
    Services for Juanita Hollier Carroway, 59, of Vivian, will be at 2 p.m. today in the McGuire Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian.
    Officiating will be the Rev. Merlin Liverman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Vivian. Burial will be in Bethsaida Cemetery in Ida. Mrs. Carroway died Friday afternoon in Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Vivian after a lengthy illness She was a Vivian native and lived most of her life in Ida. Mrs. Carroway was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church in Vivian.
    Survivors include two daughters, Kay Robertson of West Monroe and Ann Parsons of Vivian; one brother, Charles Hollier of Ida; and five grandchildren.
    Pallbearers will be Frank Ross, Sid Dean, I-arry Chandler, Cecil Sumner, Rudolph Shaw and Obie Wisinger.

    Louise H. Day (Nee Margaret Louise Hollier) passed away October 2, 2014, in Conroe, TX, at the age of 94. She was born September 3, 1920, in Baton Rouge, LA, to Joseph and Ruby Hollier. Louise was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Conroe and enjoyed oil painting, playing bridge, gardening, traveling with her sister Millie, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, writing poetry and reading. Her oil painting of the covered bridge in River Plantation where she lived for 43 years still hangs in the Clubhouse for all to enjoy. When she could no longer partake of the simple pleasures in life, the Lord decided it was time for heaven to receive her and her many gifts and talents. Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Ora Coe Day, Jr., and her oldest daughter, Linda Ott. She is survived by her remaining seven children: Ralph Day, Ora Coe Day III, Jean Daigle, Scott Day, Van Day, Minette Prior and Madelyn Mayhew. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She will be remembered most for being a loving mother with a quick wit and unlimited patience and for her graceful manner in all that she accomplished. The family wishes to extend thanks to The Wellington Assisted Living facility in Conroe for their wonderful care and friendship for the past three and a half years. A special thanks to Adalys Ruiz who kept Louise company at night for the last four months of her life and assisted her as needed. A memorial service will be held at Cashner Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18th at 3pm. Following the memorial service, a private internment of ashes alongside those of her husband, O.C., will take place with her family. If desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one of her favorite charities: The Salvation Army, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or Shriners Hospitals for Children. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Ruby Perry Hollier. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.     Joseph H. "Joe" Hollier
    Hollier, Joseph H. (Joe), passed away February 13, 2015, age 86 in Pearcy, Ark. Former resident of Walker, La. He graduated Baker HS, served in the Army Air Corps, obtained a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering at LSU where he later taught as a Professor. He held many patents on his inventions, one being a paper processing machine that he built and turned into Hollier Manufacturing. Predeceased by wife of 61 yrs, Ruby Perry, infant son Christopher, parents Ruby and Joe Hollier of Baker and 8 siblings. Survived by 2 daughters Karla Williams and Kaye Kirkwood and husband Ken, and 1 son Perry, all of Pearcy, Ark., 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Sister Ada H. Prestridge and husband Owen, brother-in-law J.T.Stevens all of Central, La. Memorial service to be in spring, as per his request his and Ruby's ashes will be scattered around their mountain home that they loved so much.

    Henry Gerald Hollier

    PLAIN DEALING - A graveside service for Gerald Hollier will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 at Lay Cemetery (Red River Baptist Church Cemetery), Benton, LA. He was born January 19, 1922 in Oil City, LA to Henry and Alice Marie Strayhan Hollier and died peacefully March 22, 2012 at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home, with his daughters by his side.

    Gerald was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Before his illness, he loved hunting, fishing, working on his land and caring for his cattle and beloved dogs. In his younger years, he enjoyed entertaining his children by singing and playing the guitar. Family was very important to him and he welcomed every opportunity to be with his children, grandchildren and extended family members. Gerald served his country during World War II in the South Pacific as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Red River Baptist Church in Benton.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Louise Jones Hollier and brothers, Malcolm Hollier and his wife JoAnn and Bruce Hollier.

    Gerald is survived by four daughters, Babs Knight and husband Rufus, Pam Pierrelee and husband, James, Rhonda Watson and husband Jerry, Amy Merriman-Harris and husband Bo; grandchildren, Kim Kyle and husband Robert, Kelly Brandon and husband Dustin, Kasey Smith and husband Jonathan, Doug Pierrelee and wife Shaunna, Travis Pierrelee and wife Amy, Melissa Gutman and husband Mike, Dylan, Connor and Mackenzie Merriman; 16 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jewel Hollier, Joy White and brother-in-law, Billy D. White.
