Jess Hollier
Jess Hollier, 94, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the Jennings hospital. A native of Breaux Bridge, Jess lived most of his life in Sulphur and served his country in the Army during WWII. He was a graduate of Vincent Business School and a lifetime member of the American Legion. Jess and his wife owned and operated Hollier's Exxon and Grocery for over 40 years retiring in 1982. Jess was an active member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church where he served as an usher for over 50 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his children Preston Hollier (Kathy) of Roswell, GA, Jeffrey Hollier (Susan) of The Woodlands, TX, and Jerry Hollier (Vera) of Sulphur; his sister Leola Chamblee; grandchildren Brandon Hollier (Caroline) and Andrea Jernigan (Rich), all of Georgia, Emily Rissmiller (Jeff), Kent Hollier and Anna Yue (Dennis), all of Texas and Jessica Thibodeaux (Terrell), Leslie Olivier and Jennifer LaBorde (Michael), all of Sulphur; great grandchildren Savannah, Grant and Hunter Hollier, Cole and Tucker and "one on the way" Rissmiller, Britnee Thibodeaux, Zachary, Zoe and Zailey Olivier and "the LaBorde Triplets on the way".
He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Dorothy "Dot" Hollier; father Joseph Hollier, mother Camille Hollier Martin and step father Clovis Martin. His funeral will be at 10:00 am, Monday, December 27, 2010 in Hixson – Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Father Gerry Boulangerwill officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery –South in Carlyss. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 4 until 8 pm with a 7 pm rosary on Sunday.
His grandchildren will serve as pall bearers.
