SONNIER Robbie John Sonnier, 36, of Oklahoma City, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 3, 2000 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born October 16, 1963, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to John Mervin and Gloria (Dufilho) Sonnier. He graduated from Norman High School in 1981. He worked Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base for 15 years. He was an avid golfer. He liked camping, jet skiing and painting automobiles. Robbie was very artistic and liked drawing and painting. He adored his daughters and was a good father. He attended St. Mark's Catholic Church. He is survived by his father, John Mervin Sonnier of Norman; two daughters, Channelle Sonnier of Clarence, Iowa, Kali Sonnier of Okla. City; one brother, Christopher Sonnier of SanAntonio, Texas; two sisters, Cheryl Sonnier of Norman, Jennifer Sonnier of Okla. City; two nieces, Chynna Sonnier, San Antonio, Texas, Jade Alvarado, Okla. City; and his girlfriend, Sandie Upshaw of Okla. City. His mother, Gloria Sonnier, preceded him in death in March of 2000. Prayer services will be 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at the Primrose Chapel with Rev. John Metzinger, pastor of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Norman and Rev. Randy Barnett, pastor of New Harvest Church, Okla. City officiating. Burial will be later this week in Opelousas, LA.

Gloria Dufilho, 60, of Norman, went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 13 in Norman. She was born December 12, 1939, to Louis and Celeste (St. Amand) Dufilho in Opelousas, LA. She married John Mervin Sonnier on May 21, 1958. Mrs. Sonnier was a member of St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church in Norman. She was a homemaker and worked at OU as a computer operator. She is survived by her husband, John Mervin Sonnier of the home; two sons, Chris Sonnier and his wife, Donna of San Antonio, TX, Robbie Sonnier of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Cheryl Sonnier of Norman, Jenny Sonnier of Oklahoma City; a brother, Harold Dufilho of Orting, WA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna and Joe Stelly of Opelousas, LA, Rose and Edwin Hollier of Opelousas, LA, Beverly and Donald Fontenot of DeRidder, LA; four granddaughters, Channelle Sonnier, Chynna Sonnier, Kali Sonnier, and Jade Alvarado. Her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Virgie Sonnier; and a sister-in-law, Irma Sonnier Fuselier, preceded Mrs. Sonnier in death. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested the Scleroderma Foundation, 89 Newbury St., Suite 201, Danvers, MA 01923. A Rosary will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Primrose Chapel with Rev. William Novak officiating. Burial will be later in Opelousas, LA.
