Hollier Rites Held Here Today
Last rites for Joseph E. Hollier, 66, of 622 Mill Street, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Catholic church of the Immaculate Conception with the Rev. Msgr. Louis A. Boudreau, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Prien Park cemetery with the Hixson funeral home in charge.
Mr. Hollier died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick’s hospital after a heart attack somewhat earlier.
He operated the Packard agency and a service garage on Ryan Street for many years. More recently he has operated eating places and had just a few weeks ago taken over the Pioneer coffee shop.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Hollier of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. E. T. Bercier Jr. of Lake Charles and Mrs. C. W. McMillan of Chicago; two grandchildren; one brother R. S. Hollier, Lake Charles, and six sisters, Mrs. Emmanuel Hebert of Jennings, Miss Orpha Hollier, Mrs. Emile Miers, Mrs. T. F. Guilbeau, all of Crowley, Mrs. Leon Couvillion of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. E. C. Laperousse of Stafford, Texas.
