Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Mary Wilma Miller, age 103, the former Mary Mills, who passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas.
Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Mrs. Miller was a native and resident of Sunset for most of her life. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Wilma loved her faith and lived according to the Gospel message. She welcomed all into her home with love.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Todd Miller and his wife, Niki, of Carencro and Joseph Miller of Sunset; three great grandchildren, Rylee Miller, Wyatt Miller and Kyle Miller; one brother, Patrick Dale Mills and his wife, Bertha, of Pasadena, TX; and one sister, Audrey Mills Fellabaum of Scott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ashton Miller; her parents, James Burleigh Mills and the former Alice Richard; one son, Joseph Myram Miller; six brothers, James Mills, Chapman Mills, John Mills, Floyd Mills, Rodney Mills and Burnise Mills; and one sister, Louise Mills Hollier.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
