U. S., in 1850, and Collector of Customs for the Penobscot District, Me. (1849-1869). He m. May 19, 1830, Sarah Fish Wilcox b. Dec. 21, 1809 (dau. of Hon. Jeduthun Wilcox of Orford, and Elizabeth Todd). He d. at Bluehill, Dec. 17, 1869.

14759-60. i. Ellen Maria Hinckley b. Dec. 23, 1831, m. Nov. 2, 1854, Daniel Webster Kimball : a merchant in Lawrence, Mass. He d. July 28, 1863. She d. April 6, 1856, leaving an infant sou : 14761. 1. Clarence Kimball b. March 26, 1856, d. Feb. 8, 1861.
14762. ii. Fanny Barnard Hinckley b. Sept. 5, 1834, resides un married at Bluehill, Me.
14763- 4. iii. Caroline Latham Hinckley b. Sept 29, 1840, m. July 18, 1866, Charles Stedman Blake (son of John Joshua Blake of w, Roxbury, Mass., and Emmeline ) : a mer chant at Denver, Col. No children.
14765. iv. Harriet Hamilton Hinckley b. April 29, 1842, d. Jan. 7, 1864, aged 21.

Bushrod W. Hinckley was a lawyer, and for a number of years the only one in town. He was born in Thetford, Vt. He married Sarah F. Wilcox, by whom he had children as follows :
1. Ellen Maria, born Dec. 23, 1831; married Daniel W. Kimball.
2. Francis Bernhard, born Sept. 5, 1834.
3. Caroline, born Sept. 29, 1840; married first, Charles S. Blake; second, Silas C. Stone.
4. Hattie H., born April 29, 1842; died Jan. 7,1864.
Mr. Hinckley died Dec. 17, 1869; Mrs. Hinckley July 5, 1889. Squire Hinckley, as he was called, was many years a member of the school committee of the town, a member of the legislature in 1832, 1834, 1837 and 1841, and at one time collector of customs at the Castine custom house. He delivered an address upon the cen tennial of the town's settlement in 1862, which was printed in the papers, and was in other ways an influential citizen.
