Our Family's Journey Through Time
1. | Mary Glover was born in 1630 in Lancashire, England; died on 29 Jul 1703 in Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USA; was buried in Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USA. Notes: Mary was the widow of Nathaniel Glover and the only child of Mr. Quartermaster Smith. She was represented to have been beautiful in person, and the most accomplished and intelligent woman in the Colony. Her daughters bore a striking resemblance to the mother, and in her grandsons seems to have been concentrated the intellectual vigor of the grandfather, and the accomplishments of the grandmother. [Otis, Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families, Volume II, 33.] Mary married Governor Thomas Hinckley on 16 Mar 1660 in Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USA. Thomas (son of Samuel Hinckley, I and Sarah Soole) was born in 1618 in England; died on 25 Apr 1705 in Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USA; was buried in Lothrop Hill Cemetery, Barnstable, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USA.
