Notes: Early in life Pierre Bauchet St. Martin shipped before the mast. He participated in the war of 1744 and witnessed the taking of the citadel at Louisbourg by the Yankees from Boston in June, 1745. In 1750 he was captain of his ship. What caused him to steer his course to Louisiana is not known, nor why it was that he resigned his commission after arriving here. Pierre married Charlotte Thérèse Gallot on 21 Oct 1758 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Charlotte was born in 1735 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, USA; died in 1835.
