    Obituary:
    Joseph Stelly, age 74, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 2:05 p.m. at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas.
    Interment in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

    Mr. Stelly was a native of Leonville and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA for 39 years. He retired from Barnard Burk Engineers in Baton Rouge as Project Manager. He then moved to Opelousas where he has resided for the past 13 years. He was also employed at Evangeline Downs Racino as a Security Guard and a Surveillance Operator. He was a veteran of the military, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from April 29, 1952-March 27, 1956 as a Radar man. Mr. Stelly was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas and had been a member of the Woodman of the World Lodge #47. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, LSU Football, baseball, and basketball. He was president of the Bayou Henry Hunting Club.

    He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.

    Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Anna Dufilho Stelly of Opelousas; one daughter, JoLynn Conley and her husband, Brent, of Holly Springs, NC; three grandchildren, Gregory Brent Conley, II, Jennifer Ann Conley, and Jessica Lynn Conley, all of Holly Springs, NC; one sister, Gladys Nolan Strickland of Jonesboro, GA.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Mayuse Joseph Stelly and the former Esther Marie Quebedeaux, both natives of Leonville; and one brother, John Matthew Stelly.

    Mr. Louis J. Dufilho
    Funeral services for Louis J. Dufilho, 77, of Opelousas will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
    Mr. Dufilho died at 9:21 a.m. Friday at Opelousas General Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Celeste St. Amand Dufilho of Opelousas; one son, Harold Dufilho of Picayune, Miss.; four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Anna) Stelly of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Mervin (Gloria) Sonnier of Norman, Ok., Mrs. Edwin (Rose) Hollier and Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Fontenot, both of Opelousas; three brothers, George and Gerald Dufilho of Opelousas and Eugene Dufilho of Bay St. Louis, Miss; two sisters, Mrs. Netti Burleigh and Mrs. Ida Russ, both of Opelousas, 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
    Mr. Dufilho was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church and former owner and operator of the Fontenot Supply House. He was a Woodsman of the World, a member of the Hope, Hook and Ladder Fire Company, and the Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association.
    The funeral home will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and will re-open at 8 a.m. Monday until time of services. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the United Heart Fund. Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home, Old Sunset Road, is in charge of all arrangements.

    Celeste Dufilho
    Funeral services for Celeste Dufilho will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with burial to follow at Bellevue Memorial Park here. Fr. Michael Russo will conduct the service.
    Visitation will be held at Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and will continue on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
    Ms. Dufilho, a resident of Opelousas, died on Sunday, Nov. 20, at Doctors’ Hospital in Opelousas at 1:40 p.m. She was a member of Hope, Hook, and Ladder Ladies Auxiliary, Woodman of the World, Our Lady of Mercy Altar Society and a former member of the Cow Belles.
    Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Stelly of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Mervin (Gloria) Sonnier of Norman, Oklahoma, Mrs. Edwin (Rose) Hollier of Opelousas and Mrs. Donald D. (Beverly) Fontenot of DeRidder; one son, Harold Dufilho of Seattle, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Kirby (Carmen) Fontenot of Opelousas; two brothers, James “Jimmy” Fontenot and Alex St. Armand, both of Opelousas; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
    Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of the arrangements.
