    SANCHO-Commander Jules C. Sancho, U.S.N.R. of Marrero, La., on Friday, March 12, 1971 at 6 o’clock a.m., beloved husband of Neris Dufilho; father of J. Marc and Jules C. Sancho Jr.; son of the late Loretta Janvry and Cesaire Sancho; brother of the late Sidney and Franck Sancho; also survived by 7 grandchildren; age 70 years; a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Marrero, La., for the past 6 years. Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of Dixie Bearings Inc., A. H. Glenn and Assoc. and the 156th Tactical Group, Callendar Field are invited to attend the funeral.     Retired Navy Commander is Dead at 70
    Funeral services will be conducted for Cmdr. Jules C. Sancho, U.S.N. (ret.) Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expy. in Harvey with religious rites in the Immaculate Conception Church in Marrero. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial in Gretna.
    Cmdr. Sancho died Friday at 6 a.m. at his home, 5109 Warwick Dr., Marrero, following a lengthy illness. He was 70.
    Cmdr. Sancho was active in military affairs during 1941-44. He served as assistant port director to New Orleans.
    In 1950 he was recalled to active duty and served as military sea transportation officer at Yokohama, Japan, until 1952, when he was made chief of staff of the Texas group of Atlantic Reserves Fleet at Orange, Tex., until 1954.
    Cmdr. Sancho received several citations, among them a special Army citation for his work with the U.S. Army Port of Embarkation.
    He was a native of New Orleans and had resided in Marrero for the past six years. His survivors include his widow, the former Miss Neris Dufilho Sancho, two sons, J. Marc, and Jules C. Jr. Sancho, also is survived by several grandchildren.

    DEATH OF AUGUSTE DUFILHO.
    After an illness of comparatively short duration, Mr. Auguste Dufilho, the well-known amateur singer, departed this life last night at his residence, surrounded by a devoted wife, a pair of loving little children and a few intimate friends.
    Mr. Dufilho was the son of Mr. Alfred Dufilho, formerly of the firm of Lafitte & Dufilho, and was born In New Orleans. He was only 20 years of age anti was a graduate of the Jesuit’s College, in this city. He was possessed of a magnificent bass voice and gifted with an artistic temperament, and as a singer stood in the front ranks of the amateurs of this city. His voice was frequently heard in concert for the cause of charity, and he was one of the representative male singers who represented Louisiana at the world’s fair.
    Several years ago, Mr. Dufilho married Miss Corinne Delvaille, a daughter of Mr. Aristide Delvaille, and their union was blessed with two lovely children. The deceased was whole-souled, jovial and companionable, brave-hearted and true, and his taking off will be the cause of profound regret to a host of friends.
    The funeral will take place at 4 o’clock this afternoon from his late residence, No. 99 Kerlerec street.
