    September 3, 1920 - October 2, 2014
    Louise H. Day (Nee Margaret Louise Hollier) passed away October 2, 2014, in Conroe, TX, at the age of 94. She was born September 3, 1920, in Baton Rouge, LA, to Joseph and Ruby Hollier. Louise was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Conroe and enjoyed oil painting, playing bridge, gardening, traveling with her sister Millie, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, writing poetry and reading. Her oil painting of the covered bridge in River Plantation where she lived for 43 years still hangs in the Clubhouse for all to enjoy. When she could no longer partake of the simple pleasures in life, the Lord decided it was time for heaven to receive her and her many gifts and talents. Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Ora Coe Day, Jr., and her oldest daughter, Linda Ott. She is survived by her remaining seven children: Ralph Day, Ora Coe Day III, Jean Daigle, Scott Day, Van Day, Minette Prior and Madelyn Mayhew. She was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She will be remembered most for being a loving mother with a quick wit and unlimited patience and for her graceful manner in all that she accomplished. The family wishes to extend thanks to The Wellington Assisted Living facility in Conroe for their wonderful care and friendship for the past three and a half years. A special thanks to Adalys Ruiz who kept Louise company at night for the last four months of her life and assisted her as needed. A memorial service will be held at Cashner Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18th at 3pm. Following the memorial service, a private internment of ashes alongside those of her husband, O.C., will take place with her family. If desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one of her favorite charities: The Salvation Army, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
