    Funeral services for Mrs. Elise Theresa Hazelwood, 84, were held at 11:15 a.m. Saturday in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hazelwood, a resident of Opelousas, died at 7 a.m. Friday, July 16, 1999, in Opelousas General Hospital. Survivors include: a brother, Alvin Dufilho of Opelousas; two grandchildren, Jessie Soileau Wilson and Jason Soileau; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hazelwood was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Alice Elise Soileau. Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas was in charge of arrangements.

    Obituary:
    Funeral services for Roger M. Dufilho, 83, of Opelousas, were to be held at 3 p.m. today at St. Landry Catholic Church Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Park under direction of Lafond and Son Funeral Home. Dufilho died at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Opelousas General Hospital. He had been in failing health for several years. Dufilho was born Jan. 22, 1855, in Opelousas, and spent his entire life in the Opelousas area. He resided on the Opelousas-Washington Highway. He was employed for many years as salesman at Riseman-Chauvin clothing store. Later Dufilho owned and operated a farm until his retirement.

    He was appointed a member of the St Landry Gravity Drainage District 14 Board of Commissioners in 1933 and became president of that body the same year. He was president of the board at the time of his death.
    Dufilho was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his widow, the former Clara Hollier; one son, Alvin M. Dufilho; a daughter, Mrs. Lester Hazelwood; one brother, Charles Dufilho, all of Opelousas; five grand-children and two great-grand-children.

    Mrs. Roger Dufilho
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today In the St. Landry Catholic Church for Mrs. Roger Dufilho, 89, the former Clara Hollier, native and resident of Opelousas, who died at 3:15 p.m. in the Opelousas General Hospital after a brief illness.
    Burial was in the Bellevue Memorial Park under the direction of Lafond & Son Funeral Home of Opelousas. She is survived by one son, Alvin Dufilho of Opelousas, one daughter. Mrs, Lester Hazlewood of Opelousas, one sister, Mrs, Preston Dunbar of Opelousas, five grandchildren, Mrs, Donald Schwartzenburg of Opelousas. Mrs. Fritz Zaunbrecker of Lafayette. Michael Dufilho of Baton Rouge. Mrs. A. J. Soileau of New Iberia and Lester Hazlewood of Opelousas; also four great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dufilho.

    The Dufilhos Mark Golden Anniversary
    OPELOUSAS - Mr. and Mrs. Roger Dufilho were honored on their golden wedding anniversary at a reception Sunday afternoon.
    Their son, Mr. Alvin Dufilho of this city, and their daughter, Mrs. Lester Hazelwood of Houston, Tex., entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dufilho.
    Guests called from 4 to 6 p.m. after the couple had renewed their vows at St. Landry Catholic Church.
    Among those attending the reception was Mrs. Alice Winchell of Kingsville, Tex., who was Mrs. Dufilho‘s maid of honor at the couple’s wedding 50 years ago.
    For the reception Mrs. Dufilho wore a royal blue dress, matching hat, black accessories and a corsage of light yellow chrysanthemums. Mrs. Hazelwood wore blue and Mrs. Alvin Dufilho was wearing a brown fall cotton. Their corsages were of golden glows.
    Mrs. Winchell, Mrs. Preston Hollier, Mrs. Preston Dunbar and Mrs. Stella Harmon presided at the silver coffee service and punch bowl. Kathleen Dufilho, granddaughter of the couple, registered guests and Mrs. Paul Mayne served the cake.
    The anniversary cake was a double wedding ring trimmed with gold leaves and topped with a cluster of white wedding bells.

    PIONEER CITIZEN ANSWERS LAST CALL - Charles R. Dufilho, aged 82 years, 5 months, died at the family residence on the Opelousas-Washington highway Sunday morning at 10:50 o’clock, following illness of two months.
    Mr. Dufilho was one of the best known citizens of St. Landry and for many years was a leading planter of the Ville Platte secition [sic], having come here some forty years ago and settling on a large farm just across the Evangeline parish line near DeBaillion’s bridge. He was married to Antoinette DeBaillion, daughter of Dr. Louis DeBaillion, leading physician of the Plaisance-Ville Platte prairie portion of the imperial parish. He (Continued on Page 5) is survived by his widow and ten children, Mrs. Gober Quirk of Washington. Mrs. Lambert, Miss Jane Dufilho, and John Dufilho, of Opelousas; Mrs. A. M. Hollier Port Arthur; M.     Funeral Rites Conducted For Mrs. Dufilho Today
    The death of Mrs. Marie Antoinette de Baillion, widow of the late Charles Dufilho, occurred yesterday morning at 8:13 o'clock at the home of her son, Charles Dufilho, on the Washington highway. The funeral took place from the residence of her son, Charles Dufilho, this morning at 8:30 with services at the St. Landry Catholic church and interment in the Catholic cemetery here. Lafond and Son in charge.
    The deceased was in her ninetieth year and is survived by a large family: five daughters, Mrs. D. J. Quirk of Washington; Mrs. S. Lambert of Los Angeles, Calif; Mrs. A. M. Hollier of Port Arthur, Tex.; Miss Jeanne Dufilho of Opelousas; Mrs. O. B. Richard of Port Arthur, Tex.
    Five sons: John Dufilho of Opelousas, M. J. Dufilho of Houston, Tex.; Roger M. Dufilho of Opelousas; Joseph Dufilho of Houma and Charles J. Dufilho of Opelousas.
    Twenty-six grand-children, thirty-six great grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren also survive.

    Opelousas, La, July 8-Funeral services were held Saturday morning for Mrs. Charles Dufilho, 89, who died Friday at the home of her son, Charles Dufilho. Jr, near Washington, La. Services were held at the Opelousas Catholic church and interment was at the local Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Dufilho had been in poor health for some time. The daughter of the late Dr. Louis de Baillon of St. Landry and Annie Toledano de Baillon of New Orleans, she spent a great part of her time In New Orleans, but had resided in St. Landry for the past 45 or 50 years. Surviving are five sons and five daughters: Charles, "Roger and
    John Dufilho of Opelousas, M. D. Dufilho of Houston, Tex, and Joseph Dufilho of Houma; Miss Jeanne Dufilho of Opelousas, Mrs. J. Quirk of Washington. Mrs. S. Lambert of Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. A. M. Hollier and Mrs. O. B. Richard, both of Port Arthur, Tex.: 26 grandchildren: 36 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

    Charles Hollier was still single and working as a clerk in Opelousas when he enlisted in the 8th Louisiana Volunteers on June 23rd, 1861. He was detailed as a Guard for the Reserve Ordnance Train from July 1862 to 1863. Charles was captured at Rappahannock Station, VA on Nov. 7th, 1863, sent to Point Lookout, MD and exchanged on March 15th, 1864. Furloughed to Louisiana, Charles never returned to his command and was considered absent without leave since April 20th, 1864. However, many years later, in a Pension Application, Charles stated that he could not return to his command and that he and 6 to 7 other members of Co. F joined up with Capt. McCrory's command. They were sent to Shreveport and later joined with Gen. Harry T. Hays in Alexandria. They were then sent to Monroe, LA to build boats. Charles was paroled with the rest of the command in Natchitoches, LA on June 6th, 1865. That much shows in his official record. Hollier married Ephra Armond on Oct. 17th, 1868. He died in Opelousas on Oct. 7th, 1932 and is buried in the Old St. Landry Cemetery in Opelousas.
