Bernard Daspit, esquire, lord of Meilhan, etc. born in 1633, counsellor at the Court of Toulouse, had his coat of arms recorded in 1698 in the General Armorial of France, the recording says” “of gold, with a pine tree of sinople, and top of azure, argent horned, between two golden stars”. He married in 1662 noble demoiselle Anne de St. Amand, heiress of the ancient family de Saint-Amand of Toulouse, whose name he added to his own. Bernard married Anne de Saint-Amand in 1662. Anne (daughter of Marguerite Charlotte de Saint-Amand) was born in 1642 in France; died in 1705 in France. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

ANNE DE SAINT-AMAND was born in 1642. She was the great great granddaughter of Anthony de Saint-Amand. She was the noble demoiselle and heiress of the ancient family of de Saint-Amand. The family probably lived at St-Amand Chatelenie, near St. Amans, 4 miles south of Muret until her marriage. Anne was the last of the Saint-Amands and when she married Bernard D'Aspit in 1662, Bernard added her name to his creating the name "D'Aspit de Saint-Amand."

Pierre Daspit4 , esquire, lord of the said manor and of Bavarlhes, magistrate and lieutenant at the siege of Frontigues, commissioner and deputy for the execution of the ordinances issued by the Duke d'Epernon, Kings governor of the province of Guienne. He is mentioned in an act of April 17, 16_7, containing an estimate for repairs to be made at the Castle of Castelviel, near Luchen.In numerous locations Pierre is referred to as Freire, however it is most likely that Pierre is the correct name since Freire means "father" in French. By his marriage contracted in 1632, with the noble demoiselle Madeliene de Cotten, he had three children, as follows:

Joseph Daspit, esquire, lord of Lueviello, who had his coat of arms recorded in the General Armorial of France.
Jean Daspit, esquire, who was counsellor of the Court of Toulouse and Mayor of this city. His coat of arms is recorded in the General Armorial of France.
