Funeral services for Mr. Charles A. Hardey Jr., 74, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Hardey, a resident of Opelousas, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 1999, in Opelousas General Hospital. He was a retired Major having served 20 years in the Army. After his retirement from the U.S. Army he went into the Insurance Business in Germany and retired from that business. He then moved back to the United States where he lived until his death.
Survivors include: his wife, Marie Ozanne Hardey of Opelousas; four daughters, Cynthia A. Hardey and Cecile A. Strasiewsky, both of Berlin, Germany, Claudia A. Von DerHeydt of Cologne, Germany, and Carolyn A. Hardey of Lafayette, Colo.; two brothers, Ronald Hardey of New Orleans and Burton Hardey of Metairie; a sister, Betty Quirk of Lafayette; three grandchildren; a stepson, Ronald St. Amand of Opelousas; three stepdaughters, Ann St. Amand Brasseux and Judy St. Amand Reiners, both of Opelousas, and Gail St. Amand
Landreneau of Alexandria; and 14 step grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be observed from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
