Mabel Marie Powers was born on February 22, 1926 to Mabel and Will West and was called to her heavenly home on August 2, 2018. She was born in Port Arthur where she met the love of her life. They were married on December 21, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kemp W. Powers, Jr., brothers Marshal West and Harold West, and daughter Cynthia Powers. She is survived by her daughter Molly Pratt and husband David, son Dan Powers and wife Sharon, grandchildren David Pratt and wife Lynette, Michael Pratt and Lori Patton, Cynthia Foster, Kris Stephens and wife Mary, and Jeremy Powers and wife Lacy, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation scheduled for Sunday, August 5 from 6-8 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Services will be held in the Chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis on Monday, August 6, at 10 AM, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Huntsville later that same day at 2:30 PM.
