[In] The Year One Thousand Seven hundred [&) Sixty-five, [on] the nineteenth of February, after having published one bann of marriage during the parochial mass of the parish of the Pointe-Coupée the third of the same month, (the) day of the “septuagésime” [i.e. the ninth week before Easter], between Mister Luc Glaude [sic.] Hollier, (wine-)merchant, (a) native of Nantes in Brittany, parish of St Nicholas, son of (the) late Luc Hollier and of (the) late Jeanne Hordroneau, his father and mother, of the one part, and between Juliette Desbordes, (a) native of New Orleans, daughter of Claude Desbordes and of Marguerite Kintereck, her father and mother, of the other part, not having found any impediment to the said marriage, and seen the certificate of the Reverend Father Hilaire, Capuchin apostolic missionary, Superior of the mission and apostolic prothonotary [i.e. chief clerk] of the publication of the one bann of the said marriage at the parish of New Orleans, and the exemption of the two other banns, and the letter of “recedo” [i.e. performance], I, (the) under-signed priest, Capuchin apostolic missionary, Parish Priest of the Pointe-Coupée and of the Opeloussas, given (that) I myself am transported for the Celebration of the said marriage and to exercise some other functions of my ministry, have received their consent mutual, and have given them the nuptial Blessing in the presence of the witnesses under-signed, this day and year as below. – Signed
