Notes: Genevieve Drouin was the daughter of Robert Drouin, born in 1606 in the parish of Pin, chatellany of Montaigne, in Perche, France, and of Anne Cloutier, born in Canada and daughter of Zacarie Cloutier and Saincte Dupont. Robert Drouin and Anne Cloutier married in Canada, their marriage contract being signed in the Seigneurie of Beauport, parish of Notre Dame de la Misericorde, on July 27, 1636. This contract, which is still preserved in the archives of the Seminary of Quebec, was the first marriage contract drawn up in Nouvelle France, or Canada. Notes: Claude Trepagnier was one of the first Canadians to arrive in Fort Maurepas (Old Biloxi) in 1699. He and his wife, Genevieve Burel (or Burelle), were also established at the Mobile Post at the time of its foundation. Their names are often met in the old records from 1708 to 1710 in which they are designated as traders or merchants. Claude married Genevieve Burel in Aug 1704 in Mobile, Mobile, Alabama, USA. 15. | Ignace Trepagnier (10.Claude2, 1.Geneviève1) was born in 1705 in Mobile, Mobile, Alabama, USA; died on 9 Aug 1752 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Notes: Never Married. First child of Claude and Genevieve born in 1705, as no recordings were made at that time by the priest or missionaries because of the yellow fever epidemic. We do know they were married between the 15th and 30th of August 1704. Along with Ignace their were four other children born in the fall, plus a couple in the spring months, which increase the population by ten or eleven in 1705. Ignace was unmarried and most likely being the eldest when his father died, stayed that way to help the family. He was only nineteen at the death of his father. During the time of 1751 - 1761,no one had deeds for their property and Ignace had land along Bayou St. John and died without issue. 25. | Francois Jean Trepagnier, II (19.François3, 10.Claude2, 1.Geneviève1) was born in Feb 1747 in Destrehan, St Charles, Louisiana, USA; died on 10 Jan 1811 in Destrehan, St Charles, Louisiana, USA. Notes: Constructing a cottage about 1770 and it was known as the "Trepagnier House". The home was built near the south side of the Bonnet Carre Spillway on East River Road and was latter demolished in 1954. Prior to its demise it was the oldest known method of wall construction used in colonial times in Louisiana - clay packed between Cyprus studs, the clay being mixed with oyster shells and moss as a binder. Jean Francois met his death 1811 at the hands of a band of rebellious slaves. After this tragic event his house was abandoned by the remainder of the family. Alexandre Bauré owed his uncle and father in-law a sum of $20,000. He left all possessions to his wife Elisabeth --Francois was the executor(St. Charles orig. acts 1807) Francois married Elizabeth Dubord in 1772 in Destrehan, St Charles, Louisiana, USA. 26. | Pierre Trepagnier (19.François3, 10.Claude2, 1.Geneviève1) was born on 19 Jun 1749 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, USA; died in 1798 in St Charles, Louisiana, USA. Notes: Pierre Trepagnier was a milita officer in Louisiana and served under Governor Bernardo de galvez in his campaigns against the English during the American Revolution. He was a wealthy planter in St. Charles parish. He disappeared one morning in a mysterious manner from his plantation, leaving his family at the breakfast table and driving off with an unknown individual, never to be seen alive again.
