Ernest St. Amand Dies of Pneumonia
Farmer Residing in Plaisance Section is Victim of Serious Attack of Flu
Ernest Daspit St. Amand, well known farmer of the Plaisance section of the first ward, was summoned to the Great Beyond on Friday morning at 8:30 o'clock, following an eight-day siege of flu and pneumonia.
Mr. St. Amand first took sick about eight days ago with what was thought a light attack of influenza, which later developed into a serious case of pneumonia, which resulted in his death Friday morning.
The deceased is survived by his wife and six children, two brothers, Paul and Sidney St. Amand, and four sisters, Mrs. Rene Castille, Mrs. Jules Castille, Mrs. Jim Henry, and Mrs. Numa Deville.
Funeral services will be held in the Catholic church, in this city Saturday morning at 10 o’clock, with interment in the Catholic cemetery.
