Virginia Hollier Naquin
April 6, 1924 - February 10, 2014
Opelousas— Mass of Christian Burial for Virginia Hollier Naquin will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at St. Landry Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum. Fr. James Brady will celebrate the Mass.
Music selection will be by Debbie Richard and Phyllis Simar.
Virginia was a resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System at the age of 89. Virginia enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, taking care of her dog Missy. Virginia was a devoted catholic who prayed the Rosary continuously. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include son, Curtis Naquin and wife, Michelle of Port Barre, daughters, Betty Olivier and husband, Alex of Carencro, Lucille Lafleur and husband, Charles, of Port Barre, Grace Morgan and husband, John of Carencro, brother Corrace Hollier, and wife, Hazel of Opelousas, son-n-law, Guy Castille, of Opelousas, sister, Anora Lukosvicus of New Mexico, ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Naquin, her parents, Louis and Clemence Stelly Hollier, daughter, Linda Castille, great grandson, David Gabriel Ashy, 5 brothers, and 5 sisters.
The family of Mrs. Virginia would like to send a special Thanks to her caregiver Ms. Rita Arnaud for all the love and care she provided.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Home will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
A Rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Miles Perret Cancer Center, 2130 Kaliste Saloom Rd, Lafayette, AL 70805
