CORRECTION:
Please note that the correct birth date for Etienne Alexis Latour is 15 April 1808. His birth record is dated the 16th of April 1808, and Etienne was born the day before. An incorrect 6 April 1808 birth date was reported in a 1998 study of the Grasset-Latour family in France, by a professional genealogist, who mistook the handwritten date of the birth record as the 7th of April. Recent availability of the Dordogne departmental archives on-line and a reassessment of a 2011 personal photo of the Bergerac communal copy of the birth record, shows that the correct date of the record is the 16th of April 1808, making the birth date 15 April. 1808.

Search for the marriage of Jean Grasset Latour and Marie Bertrand
No marriage certificate concerning them was found in the Dordogne archives from 1793 to 1797 (Marie Généreuse was born in year 5 = 1797) nor in the township of Bergerac, nor in the township of La Force nor in that of Sigoules.
Research conducted by the city of La Rochelle revealed no marriage of Grasset Latour/Bertrand in year 4 [of the Repubican Calender] in La Rochelle.
The marriage could take place before the year 4 in La Rochelle or in another city, because Jean Grasset Latour was a soldier.
