Loving wife, mother, grandmother
Services for Mrs. James "Jim" Mouton, 72, the former Marie Hollier, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Arnaud officiating.
Music will be provided by the Nativity Contemporary Choir. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.
Visitation will be today from 4-10 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A native of Biloxi, Miss., and resident of Coteau, Mrs. Mouton died at 8:24 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Marie was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and she loved people very much. She served the Lord at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church for many years and at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau. She will be deeply missed. She will be in the arms of her Heavenly Father because she loved and knew Jesus as her Savior. She was a Eucharistic minister in church and ministered to the homebound.
The family would like to thank the staff and doctors who did a wonderful job to help Marie. It was very much appreciated.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James "Jim" Mouton of Coteau; two sons, Jimmy Mouton of Lafayette, and Tony Mouton, and his wife, Cathy "Skeeter" Broussard Mouton, of Coteau; her daughter, Donna Mouton Decou, and her husband, Butch, of Coteau; two brothers, Bonnie Hollier and Paul Hollier, and his wife, Anna Lou, all of Lafayette; her sister, Nancy Hollier of Lafayette; her grandchildren, Chief Brannon Decou, and his wife, Allison Vincent Decou, of Broussard, Jarret, Andrew and Laurie Mouton, all of Lafayette, and Joshua, Jacob, Sarah and Emmy Mouton, all of Coteau; her great-grandchild, Alana Marie Decou of Broussard; and her great-grandchild soon on the way, Britney Decou.
Mrs. Mouton was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Emelie Fabre Hollier; two brothers, Dennis and Roy Hollier; and her sister, Theresa Hollier Fabacher.
Pallbearers will be Toby Belaire, Chief Brannon Decou, and Andrew, Jacob, Jarret and Joshua Mouton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy and Tony Mouton.
David Funeral Home North, Trotter Street of New Iberia, is in charge of arrangements.

James Mouton
A Mass of Christian Burial for James “Jim” Mouton, 81 will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Arnaud officiating. Entombment will follow in Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum.
Visiting hours will be observed today from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A native of Breaux Bridge and a resident of Coteau, Mr. Mouton died at 10:05 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, in a New Iberia nursing home.
Mr. Mouton was was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He loved his country and served it proudly. He was a great dad, husband, grandfather and neighbor. He enjoyed fishing, yard work and gardening. He was a retired welder.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna M. Decou and husband Butch of Coteau; two sons, Tony Mouton and wife Cathy “Skeeter” Mouton of Coteau and Jimmy Mouton and fianc/e Deborah Bone of Lafayette; a brother, David Mouton of New Iberia; a sister, Loula Denson and husband Glen of New Iberia; eight grandchildren, Brannon Decou, Jarret, Joshua, Jacob, Andrew, Lauria, Sarah and Emmy Mouton; and two great-grandchildren, Alana and Britney Decou.
Mr. Mouton was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Hollier Mouton; parents Sidney Mouton Sr. and Rena Thibodeaux Mouton; two brothers, Sidney Mouton Jr. and Clifton Mouton; two sisters, Henrietta Duplantis and Vivian Mouton; and a sister-in-law, Irene Mouton.
Pallbearers will be Butch Decou, Brannon Decou, Joshua, Jacob, Andrew and Clark Mouton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a 10:00 am Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Bonnie Joseph Hollier, 86, who passed away at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, LA.
Reverend Timothy Richard, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and Deacon Frank Cormier will conduct the graveside service. Readers for the Mass will be Gail Wadsworth and Alyzyryean Scammell. Gift bearers will be Jerry and Geraldine Rogers. Musical selections will be "Surely the Presence of the Lord," "To You, Oh Lord, I Lift My Soul," "Ave' Maria," "Taste and See," and "I Can Only Imagine" performed by Karen Broussard, accompanied by Violinist Tommy Benoit.
Entombment will take place in Memorial Park Mausoleum in New Iberia, LA.Mr. Hollier, a resident of Jennings, LA, was the son of the late Edmond Hollier and the former Emily Fabre of Broussard, LA. Bonnie was employed by Life Insurance Company of Georgia. He was also a member of St. Pius Catholic Church. Mr. Hollier deeply loved God, his family and friends and America. His passion was for fishing and dancing. While in WWII, he made a combat glider assault into Normandy, France on D-Day on June 6, 1944. He was severely wounded in St. Lo, France and was also a member of the Acadiana Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association.
He is survived by one daughter, Rosaline "Rosi" H. Scammell and her husband Bill of Lafayette, LA; one grandson, Cy Scammell and his wife Alyzyryean of Capitola, CA; one sister, Nancy Hollier of Broussard, LA and one brother, Paul Hollier of Cankton, LA, twenty-four nieces and twenty-nine nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elviere Dugas Hollier, his parents; brothers, Dennis and Roy Hollier; and sisters, Marie H. Mouton and Theresa H. Fabacher.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Monday, September 29, 2008 from 5:00pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00pm and will resume at 8:00 am on Tuesday until time of service.
Pallbearers will include Bill Scammell, Cy Scammell, Merlin "Butsy" Walet, Seth Falgout, Henry Wadsworth, and Fred Champion.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the love, concern and quality care given to Mr. Hollier by the entire staff of Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, LA. Also, for their heart 'wrenching exit salute' given Mr. Hollier upon his final departure from the Veteran's Home. We love you all!
