Obituary for Dr Bernard Clyde Hollier
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Bernard Clyde Hollier will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with Rev. Paul LaPalme officiating. Entombment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, April 30, 2021, and resume from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at the funeral home.
Dr. Bernard Clyde Hollier, 88, of Alexandria, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, Mark Hollier and Amanthe Dore Hollier; and his brothers, Russell Hollier, Warren Hollier, and Glenn Hollier.
Clyde was born on September 5, 1932, in Ville Platte, LA, where he graduated from Sacred Heart High School. He attended McNeese, Louisiana State University and Loyola School of Dentistry. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Clyde was a diplomat of The American Board of Oral Surgery. He practiced oral surgery for 40 years in Lake Charles and Alexandria. He also served as President of the medical staff at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in 1979 and Rapides General Hospital in 1981. He volunteered his time teaching at the cleft palate clinic at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.
On his 16th birthday, Clyde made his first solo flight which began a passion for aviation that lasted over 70 years. He enjoyed many other hobbies including hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, traveling, snow skiing and LSU sports.
Clyde's deepest devotions were to God and his family. He cherished his many friends and valued the time he spent with them.
Those left to cherish his memory includes his loving wife of 60 years, Jane Theresa Willamson; his children, Dr. Henry Hollier (Shaun), Philip Hollier (Lauren), Jan Chiles (Hank), Leslie du Plooy (Abrie), and Patrick Hollier; his grandchildren, Andrew Hollier, Kyle LaCroix, Erika LaCroix, Jack Hollier, Camille Hollier, Lauren Whatley, Natalie Richie, Meredith Chiles, Christian Chiles, Xander du Plooy, and Leo du Plooy; his brother-in-law Clifton Williamson Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Jack Hollier, Andrew Hollier, Leo du Plooy, Xander du Plooy, Abrie du Plooy, and Hank Chiles. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christian Chiles, Mark Hollier, Steve Hollier, Johnny Hollier, Clifton Williamson Jr., Dr. Ray Beurlot, and David Cohran.
The Hollier family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Freedman Jr. and Dr. Michael Buck for their special care and attention over the years.

Glenn Mark Hollier
October 19, 1926 - September 10, 2012
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton for Glenn Mark Hollier, 85, who died on Monday, September 10, 2012 at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by his family.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum in Milton.
Reverend Aaron Melancon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Abbey Arceneaux and Anne Arceneaux. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services.
Survivors include his two brothers Russell Hollier and wife Jo Ann of Georgetown, TX., Dr. Clyde Hollier and wife Jane of Alexandria, La.; sister-in- law Mercedes Hollier Lafayette, LA.; three daughters Elizabeth “Beth “Thomas (Gerard) Lafayette, LA, Virginia “Ginger” Gaubert (Harold) Roseville, CA and Anne Arceneaux (Chris Tuminello) Baton Rouge, LA.; his wife Betty Theriot Hollier and her children Tara Chadderdon, Lafayette, LA. and Brian Chadderdon (Rachael)Woodbridge, VA.; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Stacey Engelbrecht Rufe and her husband, Chris and their children, Charlotte and Nora Rufe, Stephen Engelbrecht and his wife, Kristin and their children, Anne Elise and Luc Engelbrecht, Kathryn Thomas Ledet and her husband, Chris, Jeannine Gaubert Pamoukdjian, Pierre, Harold "Ted" Gaubert, III and his wife, Amy, Glenn Arceneaux and his children, Abbey and Josie Arceneaux; Michael Arceneaux and his wife, Misty and their children, Makenna and Carson Arceneaux and Matthew Arceneaux and his wife, Nicole and their children, Owen Melancon and Cole Arceneaux; and many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Amanthe Doré Hollier; one brother, Warren R. Hollier; and the mother of his children, Kathryn Harvey Hollier.
Glenn Mark Hollier was born on October 19, 1926 in Ville Platte, Louisiana. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and attended Louisiana State University. He was a member of the United States Navy and proudly served his country in World War II. Glenn was the owner and operator of Les Amis Florist and Gifts for many years. He loved his customers and appreciated the hard work and loyalty of his employees. He thought of them as family and the real key to a successful business. During this time he was involved in many organizations related to the floral industry including FTD and Louisiana Wholesale Florist. He was dedicated to the floral industry and served on many boards and committees.
Glenn worked tirelessly for The Order of The Troubadours Carnival Krewe and also was active in the Krewe of Gabriel and many civic and church organizations over the years. In retirement his passion was his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his golf. At the age of 71 he hit a hole in one. He loved his golfing and poker buddies and was so grateful for the love and support of his many friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend to all.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Arceneaux, Michael Arceneaux, Matthew Arceneaux, Stephen Engelbrecht, Chris Tuminello and Keith Theriot. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Hollier, Clyde Hollier, Ted Gaubert, Jim Arceneaux, Ernie Broussard, Gerald Deville, Bob Robichaux, Ison Fontenot, Edward Landry, Vernon Moret, Dr. Huey Stephens, Dr. Sweeny Smith, Dr. Francis Pavy and Dr. Ron Jenkins.
A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Cody Miller on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ron Jenkins, Dr. Richard Fei, Dr. William Guillory, the 3rd floor staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical center and Hospice of Acadiana, for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to Mr. Hollier and his family during their time of need.
