Wilfred "Slim" Hollier
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Wilfred “Slim” Hollier, 86, who died October 27, 2009 at Camelot Place in Crowley.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder will be officiating for the services.
The family requested that visiting hours be Thursday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary was led by Sr. Justina Baker at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Cormier Hollier of Crowley; two brothers, Hilton Hollier, Jr. of Church Point, and Wilman Hollier of Opelousas; seven step-children, Lawrence Cormier, Jr. and his wife Peggy of Lyons Point, Robert Cormier and his wife Phyllis of Crowley, Jeffrey Cormier, Sr. and his wife Becky of Mementau, Sandra Meche of Fort Worth, Texas, Thomas Cormier, Sr. and his wife Liz of Crowley, Peter Cormier and his wife Annette of Egan, and Charlotte Cormier of Egan; twenty-two step-grandchildren; and twenty four step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hollier is preceded in death by his parents, Hilton and Emma Brasseaux Hollier, Sr.; four sisters, Ruby Schwartzenburg, Grace Edmond, Ethel Dore, and Marie Bouque; three brothers, Wilbur, Elmer and Wilson Hollier; one step-son, Gregory Cormier; two step-grandsons, Jeffrey Cormier, Jr. and Joey Cormier; and one step son-in-law, Darrell Meche.

A homemaker and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Center. She was 89 and a native of Opelousas.
Visiting at Wilson-Wooddale Funeral Home, 1553 Wooddale Blvd., on Friday, Jan. 4, was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tom of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church. A prayer service was held at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Aucoin; a son, Owen Hollier and wife Karen; three sisters, Cora Dekerland, Ethel Emonet and Evelyn McCormick; two brothers, Frank Jennings and Ralph Jennings; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Hollier; her parents, John and Bessie Jennings; a daughter, Barbara Mullins; and a granddaughter, Wendy Pertuit.
