RYNELLA — Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Emery “T-Bruce” Broussard, the former Alicia Pratt, 83, at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Fr. Donovon Labbe officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday with a Rosary at 5 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday until service time.
A native of Erath and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard passed away at 7:10 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Mrs. Broussard was employed at McIlhenny Co. for more than 20 years and was a resident of Avery Island for many years. She was a member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time and visiting with her family, who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her daughter Maxine Romero and husband, Rory, of Coteau; son-in-law Edward Guidry of Avery Island; four grandchildren Walteen Broussard and husband, Ted; Cimi Saunier and her husband, Scott; Nash Romero and his wife, Brittany, and Reid Romero and his fiancee Cigi Chevalon; four great-grandchildren Madison Saunier, Sully Saunier, Jena Broussard and Quaid Broussard; and one brother O.J. Pratt of Erath.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery “T-Bruce” Broussard; daughter Gladys Guidry; parents, Henry and Elise Hollier Pratt; one brother Venance Pratt and one sister, Rena Menard.
Pallbearers will be Ted Broussard, Scott Saunier, Nash Romero, Reid Romero, Quaid Broussard and Sully Saunier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rory Romero, Edward Guidry and O.J. Pratt.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Mrs. Broussard’s wonderful caregivers, Rita Dore, Shirley Viator, Jeanne Pellerin and Latell Soloman.
