LOREAUVILLE — Services for Mrs. Elmo Landry Sr., the former Rita Hollier, 88, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Mario Romero officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Friday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at David Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday at 8 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Landry died at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at Consolata Nursing Home. Mrs. Landry was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Loreauville. She is survived by her two sons, Elmo “E.J.” Landry Jr. of Loreauville and Cecil Landry and wife Bobette of New Iberia; two daughters, Joan Laviolette and husband Adam of Catahoula and Marlene Roy and husband James of New Iberia; four granddaughters, Patty L. Boggs and husband Patrick, Tammy L. Bienvenu and husband Jason all of Catahoula, Mandy R. Broussard and husband Ed of Lafayette, and Marla R. Begnaud and husband Brent of Sulphur; two grandsons, Matthew Jude Roy and Jordan Charles Landry both of New Iberia; five great-grandchildren, Adam Boggs, Alyssa Boggs, Hannah Bienvenu, Grant Bienvenu all of Catahoula and Luke Thomas Broussard of Lafayette; a sister, Adele Choplin of Milton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Landry was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Elmo Landry Sr.; parents, Cesaire and Leontine Fabre Hollier; five brothers, Andrew, Belis, Ulysse, Lovelace and Kliny Hollier; and four sisters, Edith Armentor, Regina Patin, Annette Broussard and Margaret Landry. Pallbearers will be E.J., Cecil and Jordan Landry, Adam Laviolette, James and Matthew Roy.Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Boggs, Adam Boggs, Jason Bienvenu, Edward Broussard and Brent Begnaud. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Landry’s name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of Consolata Nursing Home for the wonderful care and love given to their mother. A special thanks to Father Raymond Robataile and Deacon Ron Broussard for all the prayers offered to her. David Funeral Home - North, Trotter Street, is in charge of the arrangements.
