Joey Dwayne Manuel

Joey D. Manuel, 50, of West Orange passed from this life at 3:40 pm on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 after a 29 year courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born in Mamou, Louisiana and had lived in Orange, Texas most of his life. He was a 1979 graduate of Deweyville High School (he was known as the class clown) and a member of Cove Baptist Church. He retired from Sabine River Authority as an operator and was a DJ at Texas Longhorn Club for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors; being around people and he never meet a stranger.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Joseph Allen and Olla Mae Hollier, Irimie Pete Manuel; uncle, Clifford Manuel and Grissom.
He is survived by his daughters, Tosha Manuel of Orange, Shawnie Driggars and husband Matt of Groves; parents, Carroll and Linda Manuel of the Hartburg Community; sister, Tammy Ishmael and husband Johnny of Orange; grandmother, Mabel Manuel of Mamou. LA, nephews, Shon Hennigan, USAF Great Falls, MT, Chase Hennigan of Orange; uncles and aunts, Junior and Linda Manuel, Rebecca and Jim Frost, Ruth and John Simon; cousins, Debbie, Tony, Deedra, Dana, Donna, Serena and their spouses and children. Also by his home health provider and best friend of 15 years Rebecca Abrego-Lanter and husband John and the Abrego family; who were also his family and a special thanks to Javiar Rivas with Compassionate Care Hospice for his love, care and friendship given to our love one.
