October 9, 1932 - November 25, 2007
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home Chapel for James “Jim” Ervin Richard, 75, who passed away Sunday, November 25, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
Brother Francis Fontenot will conduct the services.
Mr. Richard was born October 9, 1932. He was a native of Rayne, La. and was a resident of Lafayette. Jim was a veteran and served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Riverside Service in Lafayette for ten years as a Station Attendant. He was also a member of St. Genevieve Church in Lafayette.
Jim will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
Jim leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathy Prejean Richard; five sons, Ricky Richard, of Abbeville, Paul, Chad, and Mike Richard, all of Lafayette, and Conway Richard, of LaPlace, La.; two daughters, Lisa Richard Gassmann, of Dallas, Texas, and Debra Puckett, of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Eunice Hollier Richard, of Rayne, La.
The family requests that visiting hours at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home be observed from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday, November 28, 2007.
Active pallbearers will be Mr. Richard’s family Paul Richard, Chad Richard, Mike Richard, Ricky Richard, Keith Arabie, and Tim Kerrigan.
