DUFILHO—Lionel Leopold Dufilho, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather passed away on Monday, February 13, 2006 at the age of 88. He was born on December 14, 1917 in Bunkie, Louisiana to parents John McDonald Dufilho and Miriam Conway Dufilho and was raised in Shreveport and New Orleans where he lived the rest of his life. Leo was a US Army Veteran, proudly serving his country in the Pacific during World War II. Upon returning to New Orleans after the war, he went to work for the Whitney National Bank and was employed there until his retirement in 1987.
Leo is survived by his wife of 32 years, Isabelle Cook Dufilho; sister Estelle Holbrook of Metairie, LA; daughters Kathleen (David) Carter of DeKalb, IL and Elaine (Tory) Milazzo of Chattanooga, TN; sons William (Teri) Dufilho of Houston, TX, Edward (Arden) Dufilho of Arlington, TX, John (Janet) Dufilho of Houston, TX; 1 stepdaughter Gayle Jordan; sixteen grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John McDonald Dufilho, Jr. and Thomas C. Dufilho; and his first wife, Ellen Kelley Dufilho, to whom he was married 22 years. Everyone who knew him will remember Leo for his caring supportive spirit, his faith in God, love of family, keen sense of humor, and his boundless interest in reading and learning.
The Dufilho family is thankful and blessed by the love, support and prayers received from friends both near and far. Special thanks are also given to the staffs of East Jefferson General Hospital and Canon Hospice for their compassionate, respectful care.
A Funeral Mass will be held from the Metairie Chapel of Lamana-Panno-Fallo, 1717 Veterans Memorial Blvd., corner of Bonnabel Blvd. on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held on Friday 17, 2006 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 18, 2006 after 8:00 a.m. until funeral time.

Estelle Dufilho Holbrook died, peacefully, on May 13, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona. She was known for her ready smile, witty comments, fun-loving nature, and compassionate, giving personality. Her priorities were her family, her friends, and her dedication to community service. She received a multitude of awards for her lifetime of volunteer work, which culminated in “The Great Lady Award” from the East Jefferson General Hospital Auxiliary. She will be missed by all who were privileged to know her.
Survivors include: two daughters, Adele Holbrook Nunez of Eunice, LA; and, Suzanne Holbrook Hogan of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren; and, five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Metairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Nunez-Holbrook Scholarship Fund c/o Louisiana State University Eunice Foundation, P.O. Box 1129, Eunice, LA 70535.

Warum Ritchie Holbrook, owner of Pinnacle Oil Company, died on Wednesday, May 5, 1999. Beloved husband of Estelle Dufilho Holbrook; father of Adele Holbrook Nunez of Eunice, LA and Suzanne Holbrook Hogan of Tucson, AZ; son of the late Ida Winter Holbrook and Ritchie Fanstock Holbrook; brother of the late Anton W. Holbrook. Survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A native of New Orleans and resident of Metairie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Church, 215 Phosphor Ave., Metairie, LA 70005 on Monday, May 10, 1999 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Sunday evening 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday morning 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holbrook-Nunez Scholarship, Louisiana State University at Eunice, P.
