Crowley, LaA mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Saint Michael Catholic Church in Crowley for Howard Joseph Hollier, 82, who died at 6:34 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008 in Crowley.Fr. Gary Schexnayder will celebrate the Mass and committal service at Woodlawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 am until 9 pm and Wednesday from 8 am until service time. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday by Sister Justina Baker. The Agape' Singers will provide their worship in song.Mr. Hollier was born September 16, 1926 in Duson, LA to the late Francis and Emily Guidry Hollier. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy; He retired from Phillips Petroleum in 1984 as a supervisor. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 5499 and the 4th Degree Msg. George Mallow assembly, a member of American Legion post 15 and the Veterans of Foreign War, Harold Bossley Post, also a member of the Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Jane Credeur Hollier; 2 daughters, Beverly Leblanc and her husband, Joseph of Crowley, Patricia Black and her husband, Ralf of New Orleans; 3 sons, Kenneth Lee Hollier and his wife, Judy of Lafayette, Patrick Wayne Hollier and his wife, Martha of Crowley and Gregory Allen Hollier and his wife, Annette of Crowley; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Francis Hollier, Jr. and Russell Hollier both of Crowley; 4 sisters, Beatrice Bourque of Scott, Carita Veronie of Port Arthur, TX, Ethel Menard of Crowley and Rose Thibodeaux of Mire.He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Dennis Hollier and Leonard James Hollier.Pallbearers will be his three sons, Ken, Wayne and Greg; 2 brothers, Francis, Jr. and Russell and brother-in-law, Raymond Menard.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc. of Crowley.
