Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Clay Miller Sr., 84, of 635 Shankland Avenue, were held today at 2 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.D. Kellner of La[f]ayette officiating. Burial with Eastern Star rites was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Jennings American Legion Hospital after a long illness. She was the former Aline DeZauche, a native of Thibodaux and a Jennings resident since 1936, moving here from Shreveport.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, OES Jennings Chapter No. 9; former member of the Woman's Literary Club and a retired school teacher. She wrote the words and music for the song, "Louisiana" which was copyrighted in [blank].
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Doris Ringer of Seattle, Washington; one son, Henry Clay Miller Jr. of Lafayette; one sister, Mrs. C. A. DeJean of Plaquemine and four grandchildren.
