Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, in Arnaudville for Bradley Hollier, 86, who died on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Senior Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Opelousas .
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.
Fr. Gary Schexnailder will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Paige Hollier and Omar Jimenez. Gift Bearers will be Tyra Hollier Darby and Cynthia Hollier.
Mr. Hollier was a veteran of World War II, having honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus, and the Sertoma Club. Mr. Hollier was a carpenter by trade, had previously owned and operated a meat market a number of years ago, and had also worked for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy and Dispatcher.
He was a man of great character, who possessed a trait of selflessness, always giving of his time to anyone in need. Bradley was never one to stay idle, when he was not working, he volunteered numerous hours of his time to the Senior Care Center in Breaux Bridge, as well as the nursing home, and various other organizations.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever he had the chance. What he looked forward to the most and treasured, were the many times that he could spend with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and most of all, his beloved wife, Lena.
