Agnes Hollier Stelly

Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 14, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Agnes Hollier Stelly, 91, who passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at River Oaks Retirement Manor.
Reverend Kevin Bordelon, Associate Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Interment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum.
Mrs. Stelly, a native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Aristille Hollier of St. Landry Parish and the former Celeste Brasseaux of Carencro. Agnes was a terrific mother, grandmother, and sister who was a wonderful Samaritan who devoted her time to two handicap children. She was a wonderful seamstress.
Survivors include four daughters, Merle S. Carriere and her husband, P.A. of Lafayette, Betty Stelly of Iota, Pearley S. Dekerlegand of Lafayette, and Verna S. Theriot of Carencro; one son, Joseph L. 'J.L. and Joe' Stelly and his wife, Diane of Lafayette; seventeen grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren; four sisters, Inez Auster of Lafayette; Diana Auster of Lafayette, Matilda Guidry of Lafayette, and Alice Guidroz and her husband, Murphy of Port Barre; and two brothers, Aristille Hollier, Jr. of Opelousas, and Arista 'Slim' Hollier of Opelousas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elie Stelly; one son, Raymond Stelly; one granddaughter, Melissa Stelly; and three sisters, Josephine Tauzin, Ester Graham, and Leah Stelly.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm and continue Saturday from 8:00 am until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Wayne Carriere, Lawrence A. Carriere, Dennis Dekerlegand, Douglas Stelly, Robert Romero, and Andr' Simon. Honorary pallbearer will be P.A. Carriere.
Memorial contributions may be sent in the name of Agnes Stelly to St. Theresa Hospice, 100 General Mouton Avenue, Lafayette, Louisiana 70501.
