du matin. Par devant nous Frederic Georges William Daniel, officier
d’académie, premier adjoint délégué par arrêté de M. le Maire, en date du
vingt mai dernier pour remplir les fonctions d’officier de l’Etat
civil de la Ville de cherbourg sont comparus ; Jean-Baptiste Raoult
préposé en chef de l’Octroi, âgé de cinquante-six ans, domicilié à
cherbourg et Charles Pont ?, professeur au Lycée de Caen, y domicilié,
âgé de quarante-un ans non parents de la défunte lesquels nous
ont déclaré que : Palmyre Joséphine Dufilho, rentière, veuve de
Adolphe Aubin Gilles : Née à la Nouvelle-Orléans le vingt

The year one thousand eight this eighty-eight (1888), the eleventh of August, at nine o'clock in the morning. In the presence of myself, Frederic Georges William Daniel, academy officer, first deputy delegated by decree of the Mayor, dated May 20 to fulfill the functions of registrar of the City of Cherbourg, appeared; Jean-Baptiste Raoult, chief official of the Granting, fifty-six years old, domiciliated in Cherbourg and Charles [Pont?], teacher at Lycée de Caen, domiciliated there (in Caen), forty-one years old, both not relatives of the deceased who have told us that: Palmyre Joséphine Dufilho, annuitant, widow of Adolphe Aubin Gilles: born in New Orleans on July twenty-ninth, one thousand eight hundred and thirty (1830), daughter of the late Joseph Dufilho and of the late Adélaïde Becnel, died this morning at two o'clock, in her domicile located in this city rue Thiers 30; as we have established, and reporters have signed with us, after reading.

Rev Mina officiating in the presence of Louis DUFILHO, Pierre Valsain BOSONNIER-MARMILLION and Jean HAYDEL witnesses, father and son at whose home the marriage was performed.

General dated 19 April 1819 and signed Monseigneur, Vicar-General, and also an authorization
and dispensation of two marriage bans by the curate of the Parish of St. James of the Acadians
dated 26 April 1819 and signed Charles Mariani, curate, which proved no opposition or
impediment of any kind known or made to them, and given the permission given by the New
Orleans judges dated 20 April 1819 and signed F. Pitot, judge, as well as one from the Parish of
St. James dated 27 April 1819 and signed D. Tureaud, judge, solemnized the marriage and
received mutual consent to marry Louis Joseph Dufilho, major and legitimate son of Jean
Dufilho and Jeanne Marie Bonnet, his parents, native of Mirande, Département de Gers, France,
age 31, resident of New Orleans, on the one hand; and Adéle Becnel, minor and legitimate
daughter of the late Maximilien Becnel and Erasie Haydel, native of this parish and domicilied in
St. Michael Parish [Convent, St. James Parish], age 16. Those present at this celebration were
Louis Dufilho, Pierre and Valsin Bonsonnier Marmillion, Jean Jacques Haydel Sr. and Jr., at whose
home the marriage took place, and several other relatives, who declared knowing the names,
residence, and freedoms of the contracting parties, and who signed with me this 29th April 1819.

Monition. The State of Louisiana. Sixth District Court for The Parish of Orleans.
The State of Louisiana to whom these presents shall come, greeting: whereas, Mrs. Palmyra Dufilho, widow of Adolphe Aubin Gilles, has purchased, at a sale made by the civil sheriff of the parish of Orleans, the property hereinafter described, and has applied to this court. in the office of the clerk whereof the deed of sale was recorded, on the twenty-fifth of March, 1875, in deed book No. 7, folio 367, for a monition or advertisement, in conformity with sections 2370 to 2380 of act No. 96 of the General Assembly of 1870.
Now, therefore ye, and all persons interested herein, who can set up any right, title or claim in and to the property hereinafter described, in consequence of any informality in the order, decree or judgment of the court under which the sale was made, or any irregularities or illegalities in the appraisements and advertisements, in time or manner of sale, or for any other defect whatsoever, are hereby cited and admonished, in the name of the State of Louisiana. and of the Sixth District Court for the parish of Orleans, to show cause, within thirty days from the day this monition is first inserted in the public papers, why the sale so made should not be confirmed and homologated.
The property was sold by the sheriff, as aforesaid, for the price of $3350, to Mrs. Widow A. A. Gilles, on the fifth day of January, 1875, under a writ of seizure and sale issued from this honorable court, in the suit entitled A. Rochereau & Co. vs. Hortaire John Longmire, No. 6990 of the docket.
Description of property as given in the judicial conveyance, viz: A certain portion of ground, situated in the First District of this city, having 60 feet front on Nayades (now St. Charles) street, between Terpsichore and Euterpe streets, by 120 feet in depth; together with the buildings and improvements thereon, comprising the double frame dwelling-house, bearing the Nos. 409 and 409-1/2. Being the same property which the defendant herein, H. J. Longmire, acquired by purchase from Miss Josephine Soubie, as per act passed before A. Barnett, notary public in this city, on the thirty-first day of May, 1873.
