FELIX J. HOLLIER JR.
Felix J. Hollier Jr, 77, of 3122 13th St, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary Hospital. He had been ill since October of 1975.
A native of Milton, La., he was reared in Abbeville. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was one of the first members. He was active as an instructor in the C.C.D. program 9 years. Hollier came to Port Arthur in 1919 and was a clerical unit supervisor in the engineering department of Gulf Oil. He retired 15 years ago after 39 years service. He was a member of the Veterans of World War I and served in World War I as a Sergeant in the 48th Infantry Division. Hollier was a member of the American Legion and had served as Chaplain. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus of Santa Maria Assembly and a member of the AARP.
Funeral services are set for 9 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Romero, assistant pastor, will officiate. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Grammier-Oberle 39th Street Chapel. The body will be taken to Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville, La., where graveside services are scheduled for 4 p.m. in the New Catholic Cemetery. He will be buried beside his sons, Wilber L. Hollier and Karl L. Hollier Sr., who died here in 1974.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maude E. Lyons Hollier of Port Arthur, one son Ray G. Hollier, also of Port Arthur; four grandchildren, Karl L. Hollier, Jr., Kraig Hollier, Kris Ann Hollier, and Mary E. Blanchard, all of Port Arthur; and two great-grandchildren, Lauri Ann Blanchard and Julie Ann Blanchard, both of Port Arthur.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart Fund would be appreciated by the family.
