DORA M. HOLLIER (CAMPBELL) CARTER born to Oneil and Mestaia Hollier in Port Arthur, Texas on December 31, 1927 and died September 5, 2002. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Roy D. Carter, Jr. and her son, James G. (Jim) Campbell. She is survived by her son, Clint O. Campbell and wife Robin of Austin, Texas, her step-daughter, Cynthia Carter Wallace of Houston, brother, Fred Hollier and wife, June, of Ervin, Tennessee. She is also survived by granddaughters Hannah S. Campbell, Courtney and Carly Campbell and great-granddaughter, Ashli Pinson. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many, dear friends. Dora was with the Houston Independent School for 29 years and retired in 1995. She was a member of HEOPA retired Secretaries Assoc. TESA, TRESA and NAEOP ( all educational Secretaries Assoc.) She was also an active member of HART, (Houston Assoc. of Retired Teachers) and of TRTA (State Retired Assoc.) She was a member of Gethsemane United Church of Christ. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Advantage Funeral Home Chapel. A church service will be held at Gethsemane UCC, 8515 Brookwulf Drive on Monday, September 9th, at 11:00 A.M.;Graveside services will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. A reception will follow after the graveside service at the church in the fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Gethsemane UCC or the charity of your choice.
