Luc Claude was a merchant and a native of Brittany, France.Luc Claude marries the Opelousas Post Commandant's daughter and settles there with a Spanish land grant and grows Indigo for awhile. Both Luc Claude and Jacques Noel and their sons were in the cattle business. Their separate cattle brands are recorded in the Brand Book in 1775 in St. Martinville (Post des Attakapas). Luc was a retired surgeon of the Marine and served as the "cirufano del puesto" (surgeon of the Opelousas Post).

Although the way it is written in this entry it is easily mistaken as “Fvre” for “Février”, there are several others written more clearly as “7bre” on the same page. The three canonical marriage bans were made public after the parish masses, both in this parish and the St Nicolas parish (according to a certificate issued by the priest of St Nicolas parish on January 1st).
