Elmire Dufilho
Funeral services for Mrs. Elmire Devillier Dufilho, 97, were held at 2 p.m. today (Monday) in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
The Rev. Angelo Cremaldi conducted the services.
Mrs. Dufilho, a resident of Opelousas, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2003, in Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas. Survivors include: a son, Robert P. Walker Jr. (R.P.) and his wife Myrna of Lafayette; a daughter, Vera Ruth Gilmore and her husband Wayne of Opelousas; a brother, Eugene Devillier of Groves, Texas; two sisters, Ella Mae Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge and Aline Robin of Port Arthur, Texas; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dufilho was preceded in death by her husband, Peyton Dufilho; nine brothers, Golman, Sylvian, Joseph, Wilkens, Harold, Edmond, Earl, Leo and Morris Jr. Devillier; and a sister, Rita Marie Ardoin.
Visiting hours were observed from 10 a.m. today (Monday) until time of services. A rosary was recited at 1:30 p.m. Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home (South) on the Old Sunset Highway in Opelousas was in charge of arrangements.
