Avery Abshire Given Last Rites
Kaplan, La.- Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a m in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church here for Avery Abshire, 58, who died Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Kaplan hospital. Burial was in the Kaplan Catholic Cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, the former Lula Hollier of Abbeville; two sons, Edward Abshire of Kaplan, and Ervin Abshire of Abbeville; four daughters, Mrs. Elmo LeBlanc of Erath, Mrs. Dudley Duhon of Abbeville, Mrs. John Menard of Carencro, and Mrs. Russell Keith of Fort Polk; one sister, Mrs. Gloria Abshire of Georgia; five brothers, Eudor and Leonard Abshire, both of Abbeville, Leonis Abshire and Dr. Gaulman Abshire, both of Kaplan, and Paul Wilton Abshire of Buras; and 18 grandchildren.
Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan was in charge of all arrangements.
