    Francis Hollier
    Funeral services were held April 22 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Port Neches for Francis Hollier, 84, of Beaumont who died April 21 at St, Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Entombment was in Oak Bluff Mausoleum under the direction of Sheffield Funeral Home, Port Neches. Pall bearers were grandsons.
    A former resident of Houston and Pott Neches, Hollier was retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department with the 58th District Court. Survivors include three daughters, Bernice Norris and Kathleen Wright, both of Houston, and Beth Zipprich of Port Neches; three sons, Oscar and Francis Hollier, both of Port Neches, and Michael Hollier of Houston; a sister, Dell Spooner of Abbeville, La.; two brothers, Nelson and Howard Hollier, both of Abbeville; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral Services Held Wednesday for Mrs. Hollier
    Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Ernestine Hollier, 59, who died a t 4:30 a. m. Tuesday in a Beaumont hospital. Requiem mass was said at the church a t 7 a. m. Wednesday. Rosary was recited Tuesday night in the Sheffield Funeral home chapel. Mrs. Hollier was a native of Louisiana. She lived in Port Neches for 45 years and was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. The Rev. C. P. Sullivan, pastor of the church officiated. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park a t Port Arthur under the direction of Sheffield Funeral Home. Pallbearers were J. J. Matherne, U. R. Flurry, Carl Guidry, Lawrence Vollmer, N. P. Hollier and Leonard Hollier. Survivors include two sons, First Lt. Oscar Hollier of Camp Gordon, Ga., and Francis Hollier of Port Neches; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Crawford and Mrs. S. J. Zipprich, Port Neches; three brothers, E. W. Lee and Frank Lee, Port Neches and James Lee of Groves; five sisters, Mrs. T. E. Bruce, Port Neches, Mrs. U. R. Flurry, Groves, Mrs. J. J.     Local Man's Father, Survived By 49 Grandchildren, Buried Wednesday
    Funeral services were held in Abbeville, La., Wednesday for Luke Francis Hollier, 93, one of the few remaining Confederate army veterans in Vermillion parish, and who leaves a son here and many other descendants in Port Arthur and Orange.

    Mr. Hollier, who died Monday night at the home of another son, Oscar Hollier in Abbeville, was the father of A. D. Hollier. 2718 12th street. The local Holliers and a number of other relatives from here attended the funeral rites, conducted on what would have been the elder Hollier's 94th birthday.

    Services In Abbeville
    The services were held at Centenary Magdalene Catholic church in Abbeville and burial was in the old Catholic cemetery. Members of the Vermillion post of the American Legion took part in the services. Pallbearers were chosen from among Mr. Hollier's grandsons. Mr. Hollier enlisted in the Confederate army at Opelousas at the age of 16. He fought in the battle of Mansfield, and served for many months at a post near Alexandria.

    He lived e number of years at Opelousas, about two years in Orange, and spent some 40 years in Vermillion parish. He was a successful farmer and for many years made sugar from open kettles, now relics in the manufacture of the product.

    Surviving Mr. Hollier are five daughters, Mrs. V. Dartez and Mrs. J. V. Guidry, both of Orange; Mrs. Joseph Toups, Shreveport, La., Mrs. F. G. Keller of Lafayette, La., and Mrs. Ben Sappington of Edinburgh, Texas; three sons, Edward Hollier, Vinton, Oscar Hollier of Abbeville, and A. D. Hollier of Port Arthur; two sisters, Mrs. Boyd Moreau and Mrs. Jack Perry, both of Opelousas; 47 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives, both in Louisiana and southeast Texas.

    Mrs. L. F. Hollier died last Saturday morning at her residence about 4 miles from town. Her funeral which took place from the Catholic Church Sunday morning was largely attended. The bereaved ones have our sympathy in their trying affliction.
