I have been researching this relative for over a year now and with the help of some of her other descendents I think we may have finally found her family line. I must say that it is not guaranteed to be right--this can be described as an educated guess with what little we could find about her. I believe her to be buried in the Oauchita City Cemetery. Her grave is said to be marked with a piece of petrified wood, but I have not located her actual grave. I think that possibly her first husband--Charles Gardner, who would be my great-great grandfather, is buried there also. For those who have never been to Ouachita City Cemetery, it is in the middle of the woods between Spencer, Louisiana and Sterlington, Louisiana. It is not terribly hard to locate and it is a fascinating piece of the history of this area. But there are many unmarked graves in this cemetery, their wooden markers and stones lost to time.

Eliza married Charles William Alfred Gardner on 10 Jul 1870 in Union, Arkansas, USA. Charles (son of Thomas Sinky Gardner and Charlotte Emily Kendall) was born about 1853 in Opelousas, St Landry, Louisiana, USA; died about 1883. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
