    Mr. Robert Warren Sabate', passed away on Saturday. November 4.2006 at the age of 75 in New Orleans, La. Beloved husband of Judith Kennedy Sabate' for 37 years and the loving father of his two sons Pierre Robert Sabate' and Captain Etienne Rene Sabate’, US Army He is predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Joseph Sabate’ Jr. and is the beloved brother of Mrs. Marcia Sabate’ Williams and nephew of the late Warren H. Hubert.

    Bob Sabate' devoted his life to the family he leaves behind and served selflessly in the Louisiana Oil and Gas Industry as a well-respected petroleum geologist and attorney for many years. He guided onshore and offshore drilling and exploration for Shell Oil Company (1957-72), Koch Exploration Company (1972-86); served as president for San'Doil Exploration L C. (1986-97); vice-president of Lumitox Gulf (1988-2000); and president of Energetix Petroleum L.C. (1998-2006). Bob Sabate' was a 37-year member of The American Association of Petroleum Geologist and served many chairmanships. He served many other professional geological organizations to Include the Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientists, the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Societies, The New Orleans Geological Society, Petroleum Landman's Association, the Southeastern Geological Society and he has both authored and co-authored countless journals and essays concerning the development of oil and gas and mineralogy for the Gulf Coast Province.

    A resident of New Orleans since 1940, Bob Sabate' graduated from Jesuit High School in 1946 and Tulane University in 1952. Commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy, he served In the Korean War as a decorated Surface Warfare Gunnery Officer on the USS Iowa and USS Missouri and later as an Anti-Submarine warfare Officer on the USS Siboney, Atlantic Fleet. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy In 1956. Returning to Louisiana, he continued his education while working for Shell Oil Company, earning his Master of Science, Geology, from Louisiana State University in 1957, Master of Business Administration, Loyola University 1967, and Juris Doctor. Loyola University Law School In 1972-admltted to the Bar that same year, elected to the Law Review and became a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.
    Bob Sabate' devoted much of his time serving veteran military organizations and was a proud member of the Military Order of Foreign Wars, the Military Order of the World Wars, and The Society of American Military Engineers.

    ln Lieu of flowers send donations to Jesuit High School 4133 Bank St. New Orleans, La 70119. Relatives and friends are Invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5200 Canal Blvd. (in Greenwood Cemetery) on Thursday, November 9, 2006- at 1:00p.m. Interment will follow In St. Louis #3 Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Jesuit High School.

    Robert married Jacqueline Marie Dufilho on 3 Jul 1957 in Billings, Yellowstone, Montana, USA. Jacqueline (daughter of Auguste Francis Alfred Dufilho and Vivien Hodgson) was born on 21 Nov 1931 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, USA; died on 11 Jan 1968 in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, USA; was buried in St Louis Cemetery #3, New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
