    Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Landry Catholic Church for Mr. Joseph Lee Artigue, 65, Opelousas, a retired pharmaceutical salesman. Burial will be in the Bellevue Memorial Cemetery. He died at 7:40 p.m. Monday at Opelousas General Hospital.
    Survivors include his wife, the former Vivian Emonet, Opelousas; two daughters, Mrs. Rene (Barbara) Fontenot, Opelousas, and Mrs. Gene (Jackie) Bordelon, Lafayette; three sons, Robert Artigue, Lafayette, Ricky Artigue, Youngsville, and Scotty Artigue, Baton Rouge; four brothers, John Artigue, Leonville, Frank Artigue, Opelousas, Ryan Artigue, Lake Charles, and Henry Artigue, Krotz Springs; a sister, Mrs. Dan (Hazel) Meche, Arnaudville; and eight grandchildren.
    He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1173, Opelousas.
    A wake is in progress today and will close at 10 p.m. at the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home, 920 North Main. Opelousas. The wake will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday. A recitation of the rosary will at 6:30 p.m. today.

    VIVIAN EMONET ARTIGUE

    Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Emonet Artigue will be held on Friday, February 16, 2007 at 10AM at St. Landry Catholic Church with the interment at Bellevue Memorial Park. Msgr. Robert Romero will conduct the services.

    Mrs. Artigue, age 87, of Opelousas, died Tuesday at 2:26AM at Opelousas General Health System.

    She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a seamstress at Opelousas General Health System.

    She is survived by her sons; Robert Lee Artigue and his wife Billie of Opelousas, Joseph Ricky Artigue and his wife Wanda of Scott and David Scotty Artigue of Sarasota, FL. daughters; Barbara Artigue Fontenot and her husband Rene of Opelousas and Jacqueline Artigue Bordelon and her husband Gene of Lafayette LA, grandchildren Nancy Fontenot St. Cyr, Michael Fontenot, Shawn Bordelon, Jad Bordelon, Cory Bordelon, Catherine Artigue, Kirk Artigue, Sgt. Benjamin Artigue U.S. Marine and Christopher Artigue, Great-grandchildren; Andrew St. Syr, Ben St. Cyr, Criston St. Cyr and Callie Istre.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Artigue, a granddaughter; Kristie Artigue, her parents; Joseph and Ada Lalonde Emonet, brothers; Fred Emonet, Cleveland Emonet and Raymond Emonet.

    The family has requested that visitation be observed on Thursday, February 15th from 10AM to 10PM. and will continue on Friday from 8AM until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7PM.

    Funeral services for Samuel A. (Sam) Hollier, 69, will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, with burial in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
    Mr. Hollier, a retired building contractor who resided in Opelousas, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 1995, in the Opelousas General Hospital.
    He was a member of the St. Landry Builders Association.
    Visitation will open at 8 a.m. today.
    Mr. Hollier was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Anthony and Ada Lou Brown Hollier, and grad-daughters, Kristie Renee Artigue and Brandi Anna Davis.
    Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Gilley Hollier of Opelousas; his step-mother, Mrs. Gladys (Tiny) Hollier of Deridder; three sons Carl, Tommy and Michael Hollier, all three of Opelousas; three daughters, Mrs. Ted (Paula) Arceneaux, Mrs. Ralph (Maggie) Duhon and Ms. Linda Hollier, all three of Opelousas; three brothers, Cayce Hollier of Oberlin, Sonny Hollier of Pasadena, Texas, and David Hollier of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs. Yvonne H.     Frank Artigue, Sr., 68-year-old farmer died at 6:25 a. m. today at his residence on the Opelousas-Lawtell highway. He had been ill for four months.
    A native of Amaudville. he had been a resident of near here for the past four years.
    Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic church with Father C. J. Gaudin officiating. Interment will be in St. Landry Catholic cematery.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Elena Arceneaux, of route 4, Opelousas; five sons. Frank.     OLDEST MAN IN PARISH.
    Scions Of Venerable Clement Hollier Celebrate His 94th Birthday. On Sunday, January 12th, there gathered at the residence of Mr. Clement Hollier, a few miles from Opelousas, the children and grandchildren - of that venerable old gentleman, perhaps the oldest man in the parish of St. Landry. The occasion was the celebration of the 94th anniversary of the birth - of Mr. Clement Hollier, to do honor to old age as well as to a life fruitfully spent, and garland the brow of a devoted father and grandfather. The feast and celebration was attended by the following children and grandchildren of the old gentleman: A. T. Hollier and family, A. L. Hollier and family, A. M. Hollier and family, T. J. Meyers and family, Chas. Hollier and family. There were also present several friends of the family, and the day was spent in joyous felicitations.

    St. Landry parish lost, last week, two of its venerable citizens-old landmarks. Mr. Clement Hollier, aged 95 years, 20 months [10 months] and seven days, died at his home, a few miles from Opelousas, on Friday, November 19th. He was one of the pioneers of this country. Notwithstanding that he had nearly reached the century mark, he was yet able to get about. He leaves a large circle of children and grandchildren.
