Mr. Horace Russ
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on Sunset Highway for Horace A. Russ, 94 of Opelousas, who died Wednesday at 10:30 p.m.
Burial will be in the Bellevue Memorial Park, with masonic rites at the graveside. He is survived by his wife, the former Ida Mae Dufilho of Opelousas; a step-son, Gerhart Schulte of Texas and three grandchildren of Austin, Texas; seven nieces and nephews from the state of Washington.
Russ was a native of New Orleans and was a retired art teacher. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge of New Orleans and Opelousas and the Eastern Star, Art League, Delgado Art League of New Orleans, Gulf Coast Art League and the Opelousas Art League.
The funeral home opens at 2 p.m. today and closes at 10 p.m.
